Well that was cool running the V8's and against SRA aswell. Good to see everyone raced very clean. Sorry for the mishap in hte first race where everyone had cars dissapear but that was probably one of the other leagues turning over the track. Race 2 i turned Villa around. I got a little caught out and wasnt cautious enough sorry, then i dropped out with a couple of laps to go lmao. Anyway thanks to jim for pulling the other half together and hopefully we will do this again in the not to distant future. One again good clean racing from everyone and thanks to all that turned up cheers.

Thanks guys for the races and thanks to Jim for organising
Was close as expected but was caught out with the cars dissapearing then re-appearing as BJ buried my car into the track....LMAO (the joys of online racing). Watched some great dicing with the 2 andrews the highlight....good racing guys.
Was dissapointed i was starting at rear at Mid Ohio but thems the breaks and was lucky to have made up 10 places in the 1st lap but a stupid driving error by me spun GW around at T1....sorry again GW.
Back to rear or close to ......had fun making my way back and eventually finished 9th.
Definately have to mix the leagues again as great fun :)

I had a really fun night.

Race 1, qualified 4th on my last flyer. Good start picked up a place but couldn't stay with Dave and Mutant. Fought off a charging Jim, got a cushion but got a bit sloppy around the midway point. Fought off a lot of pressure from Jim and then Andrew F1 (I race as Andrew V btw) who finally got me and made a gap straight away. Settled for 4th.

Race 2, ok start but understeered quite badly into turn 2 and was outside with no grip, got tapped twice, the second spinning me. Glen redressed (thanks mate) but I dropped to the back. Was on Fat's tail for a while until we came up on a real mess into turn 1. He opened up a big gap as I had a few moments and then Gwyar was on my arse for what felt like ages. Mr Mum then chased me hard and got me with a few laps to go leaving me in 10th.

I think that it was really competitive - quali at Puk was so close for the top 10 or 12. I think there is good grounds for doing this again. Furthermore, without wanting to trivialise the distinct identities of each 'club', it may be a good time to discuss some sort of more permanent coming together. I know there are complications but I have some ideas about making such a thing work, and the will to do so would overcome any problems.

That was good fun, and great driving by all. Have some fantastic dices with the SRA guys,Kouta,A Villiers and mike are 3 that come to mind. Should do this again.

Had a better race at Puke, not as technical or I am more familiar with the track.
Enjoyed having racers like Mr Mum in my mirrors for a few laps but that 2-3 seconds (or more) per lap took its toll.

By the end of the race the tyres were starting to behave them selves and allowed for some slides.
Thanks to everyone for organising this, may be we should show them how to install HistorX and have back to back V8/HistorX races on the night?
Thanks for the set too rpo, I just couldn't get the stupid thing to point into the corners with all the trials I had.

Great night of racing all,

I didn't think we would have done as well as we did, due to most of us not doing many laps/hours in the V8's. Well done to all the XGN guys for driving out of their comfort zone, to Dave and Andrew, great driving :hail::hail:

I enjoyed both races, the one thing i can't do in these cars is brake, i need to figure out how to get better at that, looking at some of the SRA replays, some of you guys have very nice setups and can slow the car down without massive lockups, i ended up spending a lot of my time behind Jiminee, until he spun out near the end of the Puka race, bad luck Jim. In race 2 i thought i had him, my setup seemed better on the fast corners and i was all over him, but ended up spinning on the front straight because i was too eager :censored:

I agree with the other guys, we should do this again, if you SRA guys are interested, but in fairness i think you will all need to download the HistoriX mod, and drive on our turf next. You never know, once you have tried HistoriX you may be hooked, it is the most involving mod for rFactor by a country mile.

I did notice that you had a 70:30 brake balance in your setup, I usually run these with a 63,64 front , maybe even less with a full tank, and then move it forward as the fuel load lessens. Great setup though.

Once again it was a great night with good numbers turning up to the "1st" interleague challenge
I think everyone did well driving the V8 beasts...not something SRA guys have done for a long while but maybe driving different mods regularly helped us adapt ok. Mutant and Andrewf1 were the pick of the bunch for SRA as was Daveo555 Mr Villers and RPo83 for XGN.
The SRA guys are also pretty interested in another "Challenge".
Funny how the bushfires and floods can bring people together :)
Personally i would love to give HistoriX a go but maybe with one of the easier cars to drive.
Not sure of the League nights for XGN but Monday and Thursdays are SRA nights. (the Sunday seemed to work ok)

PS would it be worthwile asking any other Leagues or keep this amoungst ourselves?

See to much time driving cars with rear drums lol

I did end up being brave and ended up at 68/32. because i don't have brake bias mapped as it is not useful in HistoriX i play it safe and focus on the front end where all the weight transfer and braking performance should be.

Glad you liked the setup :bananapartyhat:

Inexperience at mid-ohio really hurt us I reckon. Nevertheless all congratulations must go to sra.

Any chance of getting individual drivers points? If its too much hassle, I understand.

Cheers

We are listening :playball:.......

Was a good night for sure, those cars are heaps of junk. Contrary to popular belief, we have only used these in a series once. Now if we had chosen some FIA GT stuff, that would be different, :).
We will go with any sort of mod you guys like, can sort out the peeps that don,t have GTL ( mini image easy to supply ).
Maybe a similar type of car, say the BMW M21 mod or the Spirit of 76 Lotus etc, might also suit you guys well and not be as big a download as the Historix for some.

but any way, great night , thanks to Glenn and Jim for thier efforts.

Bit short on time tonight sorry guys so will post more tomorrow but just wanted to say thanks and do you still want the 2008 V8 point structure Geln or are you happy with whatever system you used there? I dont think it will matter too much and the V8 system is overly complex anyway!
Love the idea of the old Beemers aswell!

Thats basically the point structure they use jim, as far as i know. In champ-R it didnt differentiate between ford and holden so i added the team points up manually.
