Whilst planning for the Endurance race coming up at the end of the season, i decided to get Motec working in rFactor. I had tried it before but couldn't get it to work :censored:
I downloaded the data acquisition plug in and the new i2 Motec app, and had another go. At first it didn't work, but a couple of changes to the ini file and success, it now logs as soon as the car moves, no need to activate anything, just drive off :bananapartyhat:
I discovered one problem when looking at the data though..... i'm not getting 100% throttle :censored: i'm close, i'm getting 98.75% - 99.3%, a little tweaking is in order :)
The other thing i notice, i hardly use more than 70% brake, though i'm pushing hard on the pedal, may need to tweak both pedals. This could be either very good, or very bad....
Anyway if you have had a crack at this before and failed, retry, if you still have problems, just speak to me on vent, and hopefully we can get it working, very cool toy to improve your driving. You can email your laps to other to compare, it maps so many parameters, there is nothing else you would need.

once i got GTR/GTR2/GTL installed I saw it and was stioked that rFactor used it too, and have been using ever since, makes me at least think i know what i'm doing :D
...... doesn't map brake temps tho? or is that SimBin games only? :noidea:

Brake temps are there and active BJ, so is tyre wear, tyre load, and damper velocity :)

I like that you can sync the data to an avi, quite cool.

thats not mine, its from http://www.trackpedia.com/forums/showthread.php?p=47392
but I have the same setup......
Rfactor can make a avi, the export button in the replayfridge, I turned down the quality to make it run smoother.
In Motec, open the log file, then, add>video, select file from rfactor/replayfridge/movies. Now the video is synced with the start of the log file (out lap). So, select the whole log file (all laps), by making the green rectangle cover all laps. Right click on the video box, select "show video controls", unclick the pad lock, move the blue vertical line to where you want the video to start, Click the pad lock to lock the sync. Resize the window.

FT you'll also need the Motec i2 Pro software here http://www.motec.com.au/filedownload.php/mi2_pro_1.03.0106.exe?docid=2409
grab the manual as well
Here is a guide, it's for GTR2, looking to see if there is an rFactor one :)

Once you have installed the plugin, and set Motec up, go to the root directory of your HistoriX install and open the DataAcquisitionPlugin.ini
Change the logging options to:
[Logging Options]
Logging Active On Startup=1 ; Activation Status on Simulation Startup: 0 = Inactive, 1 = Active
Wait For Vehicle To Move=1 ; Wait for vehicle to move before starting data collection: 0 = No, 1 = Yes
Once you have finished a session, you will find 2 files in the location you specified when you installed the plugin. Open Motec and point it to that location and open the file.
All the screens are configurable, it will probably be better to talk through those options though.
Have fun...:not_ripe:

Actually since that post i have stripped even more out of that screen, i want that screen to reflect throttle/brake %, speed, rpm and wheel input.
I have got rid of the g-force stuff, but in the brakes tab, i have all 4 brakes being logged, and 12 temps across 4 tyres and wear displayed.
I will not respond to your underhand comments about Vic :tape: :p
I am above that sort of childish behavior today :eyebrows:

I have a "motec" kind of screen that is live while racing on my 2nd screen. So i have Fuel- left/ per lap, tyres - temp/pressure, brakes, lap times, brake/throttle %, water/ oil temps. Pretty good for going that extra lap for fuel or adjusting tyre pressures on the fly.
