I gotta say my first race(s) here back at XGN and with Historx have impressed me significantly more than I was expecting.
When I loaded this up at about 6pm tonight I couldn't drive the Mini for Peanuts!, couldn't steer and the up shifting and downshifting was too harsh sending me constantly off the Road!.
Anyway, I read the manual, setup my wheel for auto-clutch and upgraded the car for variable steering ratio, then spent some time setting up the car, and amazingly found I could drive it reasonably well.
I read earlier that someone had done a lap in the 1.40's so assumed I was stuffed.
Fortunately that obviously wasn't TC-65's. I think the 1310 mini is ridiculously fast, I uprated the rev limit to 8250rpm and was pulling 190k's down the straight.
Race 1 pulled away from snakeyes, no apology was necessary mate, and held 3rd until the end.
Race 2 staved off considerable early pressure from Snakeyes and Davo555, and managed to keep 2nd and 3rd in sight until the end.
No doubt with more tweaking of the setup I may have been able to better my times by 1/2 a second or so, but we'll see next week.
I guess I should try a different car each week, at least to create some decent setups for hopefully a full blown league next time.
Thanks to XGN and catch You all next week.

well my first impressions of the mod is that i love it, it was so much fun just throwing that car around eastern creek - and now i've been banned from it :fear:
I just missed out on making race 1 so i went and did a bit of offline prac while i waited and i tried the mini but i couldnt drive it for peanuts and managed a 59.4. Not happy with the way it drove i went and chose the mustang cause it looked tough lol. Prac in prac i did a 54.0 and i felt that it was easier to drive and more my cup of tea (rear wheel drive).
I entered the server and got one hotlap during warmup and did a 53.6. Into the race i started 3rd. Made a move on the first lap and then made a move for the lead towards the end of the second lap. Glen stayed in touch for a couple of laps then i managed to get a gap. I got fastest with each lap and got down to a 52.7 but then must have cooked tired because i started dropping 2 tenths a lap for the last 2 laps.
Looking forward to doing more laps in these cars but next week i'm racing V8's at another league so i miss the fun run here. Good to see people racing and hope to see a series happening after these fun run races :)

Well I couldn't get all the turns correct in any one lap! This was not a fav and I had never used the rFactor track.
But it had a more realistic feel than the GT Legends track, I enjoyed the bumps and when I finally kept off the concrete entering the main straight and didn't loose it put some consistant laps in.
Glad I'm not a betting man, no one lapped me in race one, I had predicted lap 8.
Race two I had some overtakes (Kowabunga!, must re-map that chat key), but blew a tyre in lap ~7 and found the bog limping to the pits with a lot of understeer! And then I got lapped!
Sat in watching on the monitor, the household was shutting down and went myself.
Glad to see and increased field, (WHY ARE JUST THE FAST ONES COMING BACK? WHERE ARE SOME SLOW NEWBIES?),
On the serious side, it was good to Imperious and Prodgers on the grid.
There were some interesting couple of laps sitting in watching, only got one screenshot...

The action was more impressive in real time.

Race 1 grant got the inside run and stayed in front of me for all the race, I was impressed with his consistancey as he always maintained a 1-2 second gap. I did a PB in falcon of 154 something during the race which also happened to be the fastest lap wooohoooo of race 1.
Race 2 "The Prodge" joined in the Super Stang, I knew if there was to be any chance to beat him it soon went out the window. Im not sure how but i found myself on pole for race2. Got a reasonable start with myself, Grant and "The Prodge" rounding out the top 3 posi's. "The Prodge" soon got passed Grant so it was time for me to make the Falcon even wider then it is. I think i held him for 1 lap until he discovered how much easier the Mustang out brakes the Falcon. From there in the battle for second place started. It was the most entertaining dual i have been in. We over took each a couple of times and then at one point i thought my Falcon Sprint had better brakes and tried to slip by on turn 2. Sadly i couldnt pull it up and ran into Grant, i backed right off for a few corners to lets us both gain our composures again. I didnt want to force my way past. After awhile i got second place back and even opened up a little gap but i think Grant discovered how good the brakes really are in the Stang and made a heap of time up at turn 2. I then overshot a corner which saw Grant pass me and take second place.
WD to the top place getters. Was good to get a few more in. Great to see a fast mini amongst us :)
Lads if you could use the Mustang once each if you want to but dont choose it every week, Its far to fast for the rest of the field but on the other hand if you want to use the Mini or the Alfa for example every week you can, just not the stang please.
I will start another thread (http://www.xgn.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=252) quickly due to the server doc issues booting everyone and a way around this.
Edit, just realised next race is American Muscle so i guess any one can pick the the Mustang or Falcon.

Ditto, couldnt get the smile off my face for hours
Was going to use the Falcon as per post but hated driving the thing, it keeps bouncing all over the track and after seeing the times Glen was doing in it and knowing they were almost exactly the times I was capable with in the Mustang, thought it would make for better racing ,so grabbed it and thats the way it turned out.
R1. Got the start from Glen and the whole race the gap never varied from 1.0to 1.5 secs, I,d make a small slip and Glen would close, he,d make a small one and fall slightly back. Great stuff.
R2. Was seriously considering letting Glen win the start and enjoy the race chasing instead of leading, but a grid stuff up meant he got the start anyway. Thought from Prodgers warmup time trying to hold him up was pointless, so didnt fight too hard to keep him behind, and then resumed battle with Glen, and as he has already posted it was a beauty. Bumper to bumper all way, and gotta admit didnt even realise you had hit me at T2, must have been slight. He made a small slip near the end, just enough to get past and hold 2nd to the finish.
Finally, just how awesome were the big power slides thru turn 1 in those V8,s
Love those things. Also funny how I kept forgetting we were in rFactor, not GTL. At the start, thinking we had 1:30 to the start, not 30 secs, and that we could rub the occasional panel in this without fear of the other car being fired off the road. And that you have to do the pit limiter yourself, not done automatically like in GTL

I can change this to 1:30 if you like, it sort of gives everyone a bit of time to check fuel etc Besides myself and Flattop are trying to make the transition as smooth as possible for the ex-gtl guys.
Also grant im happy to share any setup i use, I made the Falcon front end very soft lastnight to combat the bumps

No, the 30 secs wasnt a problem, think I was 1st on the grid anyway, just kept thinking I was in GTL, not rFactor. Yeh, wouldnt mind trying your Falcon setup thanks. Dont know why it should bounce around so much, suspension should be identical on Mustang and Falcon

Well getting in with a few mins b4 race 1 kinda sucked, lol. As i had to guess alot of the setup, but that didnt go too well. lol
Race1: stupid Spotter plugin makes loading to the grid quite slow. So as i did, you guys had already just left the grid. lol
Pretty lonely race, just getting use to the mod again. Finsihed last with a flat tyre.
Race2: Decided to go with the mini after we got the boot. Got a fairly nice setup, but the rear was still too hard as i was going for the lift off oversteer setup to combat its cronic understeer.
Got off to a OK start, and settled in behind Imperious getting ready for one of our battles. Till i got hit by snake and last a bit of time. Then spun last turn. So another crappy race.
TBH, Im still not sure wether this is better then GTL yet. Maybe due to not getting everything setup properly yet. But hopefully i do soon, as as some of you guys know how much i loved GTL. lol

To Be Honest I would say that it is harder than GTL, there are more setup options and the Mod is trying to replicate what these cars were like to drive when they were new, not the updated equivalents found in GTL.
Also check out the upgrades for each car, unless You are using 900 degrees of rotation on Your wheel, You need to use the variable ratio upgrade, also I setup mine to work as GTL did, with auto-lift and paddle shift.
I will have to try my G25 at 900 degrees and use the shifter one day , but I don't see how I could be quicker using the clutch to change gears.

I did too, If I hadn't I would have been stuffed, the bits pertaining to wheel setup are Mandatory IMHO
