Rolled out the Cortina for her first stint, after a few tweaks here and there managed a 106:7
I fear the Mini in Imperious's hands on this track

Ha, I did the same, but couldn't find the server, so raced offline.
I managed a best of 1.05.9 in the cortina, but my average was around 1.06.4
I'll try again tomorrow night to check and see if my new installation works properly.
I'm almost going to suggest the Mini 1310 gets banned, it did 190k/hr at Eastern creek, the best I could get out of the cortina at Lakeside was 176k/hr, or 109mph.
I set the speedo to MPH, adds that authentic touch.

Nice times mate, 4 cyclinder cars are my sore point, If you think the 1310 should be de-listed then i trust your judgement being a bit of a mini expert.
It appears there are a few cars that seem to be above each other in the TC65 class.

I just did some testing on the server.
Mini 1310cc 1.05.1 max of about 114MPH (183k's) on the straight
Mini 1275cc 1.05.4
Not much difference, both cars drive slightly differently, but significantly are faster than Cortina, haven't tried the Alfa Yet.
I only changed fuel, diff ratio's, brake balance, coast and power, and rev limit, the other settings were standard.
Mr Fox

105.5 in the alfa and 105.7 in the cortina, havent tried the mini yet but im sure i wont be going as fast as imp.

Is it cool if i use a mini, i only have keyboard keys and i was lucky to get slightly under 1.08... Hated using the Cortina. What about regulating the rev limiter?
Mr Fox
25-08-2008, 04:34 PM

Are there any specific settings to be made in the advanced setting menu... like spin recovery, invulnerabilty, brake help etc?
Also, what do I set the race time scale to?
Nick.

Thanx snakeyes,
I just wanna have a few practice runs with AI cars to see how I go, so is fuel & tyres set to normal on the server?
Nick.
Mr Fox
25-08-2008, 06:06 PM
hey nick, you can add AI in the server if you like but they are set to 120%
Fuel and tyres is set to normal
BTW time scale is just that, you can have 4X time if you like to watch the sunset or whatever.

Ok, I've set race time scale, fuel & tyre wear to normal, set the race for 18 laps with 1 pitstop, so set the tank to have 9 laps worth of fuel. I sart the race but fuel runs out on lap 7, do I have a problem in the settings or is this normal, ... oh, I'm in the Alfa.
Nick.
Mr Fox

yer mate always allow some extra laps of fuel to cover the race, nothing worse than running out towards the end.

I keen to join this race, I've had a few laps in the 1310 and albeit with a keyboard, Managed a 106.9 without the assists.

Mr Fox
26-08-2008, 08:47 PM

well I havn't done any practice here on the rfactor track, so I may have to just ramdomly pic a car and go for it.
Looking forward to tonight, with an increased grid size, things are getting more exciting.
May not be able to do 2 sprints, increased hours at work this cycle.

In tonights race, is it quicker to have a pitstop halfway or no pitstop at all?
Also, how the hell r u guys doin 1.05 & 1.06's, I'm into 109's in the Alfa.
Nick.

No pitstop required in these short races, tyres dont go off.

Cheers Steve, I noticed some of the tracks in rFactor have more detail, eg bumps etc, compared to the GTL versions.
( One track I played on last week was jet black tarmac a complete diff from the GTL version.)
I think I may need the Daytona to keep in touch with most here hahaha.

um.... no idea. I had a go at and Alfa Race last night at Mid Ohio. The one hour practice was enough to get the car into a nice race setup, but I had alot of trouble getting a good time down. I think my best was a 1.49 leaving middle pack for the grid but last for the race as I just couldn't get the thing on the road. I'll stick with the mini for our race.

If you just want more time to practice before the race, the server will be up, you can join the and practice on the server for hours before the official times (if I read your request correctly)

Ok, I have been trying to join races, but it keeps saying "join timed out." Whether its our server or another one, they all say it. Anyone, I dont want to miss the race.

I think this is one for Glen73, but have you:

have you re-booted
have you re-started you modem?
That's it for me, Glen will reply as soon as he logs on,

I still think your missing a DLL, Just a couple of basics,
Is this a proper fresh install of rfactor?
Does it happen with everyserver?
Are you able to go into open servers?
Also sprinterboy we are on lakeside tonight not mid-ohio

Thanks. I actually re installed the lot last night and i discovered today, that there needs to be a game running on the server to join it :P
On to problem number 8001, i have a good (well im paying a lot for it) internet connection, yet when im playing online, its a bit laggy and it is always saying "syncronising" and then a number afterwards, what the hell does that mean and why cant it keep up. I dont want to slow everyone down tonight.
cheers

get onto the server and go onto the track, then press the number 2 key. Should be around 60 to 80
If its really high make sure all background programs are shut down. Let me know your number please.
