PC help/ sound gone weird?

Hi guys ,anyone have any suggestions on what maybe causing my sound to be weird and echoey?

pc doesnt play some utube clips with sound and others eem ok but a bit scratchy.
Rfactor has also a sort of hollow sound.

Is it thru speakers or headphones. Maybe a prob with one or the other.

If both would suggest a sound card prob so maybe a re-install of drivers 1st. Dont forget to un-install 1st tho.

Whilst playing rfactor and running vent my sound sometimes goes to a hollow sound but only for 5 to 10 seconds.
