Well, I'll kick it off. 1310Mini on my 4th Lap of the track 1.51 with Keyboard. I need a joystick or somthing so I can race a RWD.
I think the Corty and the Jags are going to be the ones to beat.

I have done 49s in both the Jag and the Cortina so far, only a 51 in the Mini though but lots of setup work still needed there, I reckon and can also get it below the 50s. Will post setups sometime over the weekend if anyone wants them.

Hi
Could it be that You haven't installed the 1.01 patch, as the main install is 1.00 only.
Ensure that You read the text file, otherwise it will not install into the correct place.

Just did a 1.49.77 with the mini 1310cc, and reckon a possible 2 secs more with a better setup.
Also my wheel (G25) is vibrating crazily on this track, so might end up turning FFB off for the race if I can't sort it.

i did a 1:50 with the jag, im hoping to shave some more off that tonight. Ones thing for sure it will be a tight tussel up front again.

had a look at some of the server files and i cant see any detailed message as to why you are getting kicked. Just going to ask the obvious and see if you have teh right version of track (http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Brands%20Hatch%202005)
Also there is normally a message of some sort before you get booted. Try keep an eye out

Glenn73, Thanks mate, it was the wrong version of the game, I had dowloaded it from rfactor central last week and it shows as Brands Hatch v2 by lasercutter.
Anyway it's seems to be working fine now so thanks again for your help, much appreciated.

Dave,
Glad to hear you found the issue!
Guys,
Just a suggestion. Why don't we have a common practice time on this track so there is more chance of bumper to bumper practice sessions??? Say 8pm nightly or what ever is popular to get a busy track on a reg basis?

You bet Dave'o, tomorrow night, will have to practice tomorrow night pre-race for me.
Did some laps on the weekend but still need to do some setup changes.
I have plans to use the Jag, 'cause, it sound great, haven't used before and I hope no else is, (even though Cortina and Mini is in my mind as cars for this track).
see you there... :bathbaby:

Thnx Flattop, I had better get practising tonight then, I think I'll use the Cortina although what a handfull trying to get a reasonable time without ending in disaster:frusty:. I'll just aim to stay out of the way.

To the setup gurus, do you have some starting points to tame the Cortina for Dave'o?
Jiminee
02-09-2008, 05:23 PM
Try those guys, should be one for the Cortina and one for the Jaguar, both capable of 49s in my hands.
Now if someone could post a Mini one, I just can not make them work in this mod, had mine going like a rocket in P & G, but not here, too much understeer! Would be most grateful!
Thanks

Pretty happy with the Jaguar for this round, flat 49's so far but i have a feeling im going to be a second off the leading guys, have'nt done much praccy this week :(
BTW a question for flattop, did the Jags have 2 or 3 SU's?
flattop
03-09-2008, 08:38 AM
haha, noice one Glen!
Okay certainly all the factory MK IIs had Twin HS6 or HD6 SUs, can't remember looking under the bonnet of Jane's Jags either the 3.8 or 4.1, they may have special sets?
Will have a look at the machines still racing at the next Historics
BTW off to "Haunted Hills Hill Climb" this fathers' day, (the Morwell hill climb replacement track).

The help on this forum is excellent and being a newbie with minimum computer skills it's great that you guys take the time to help others thru.
I got the link for the Cortina & Jag but I'm not sure what to do with it, any help appreciated.
Thanks again Guys.

Sorry I don't have and install of rFactor on this machine, but:
the *.svn files are the set up files saved by the user in the sim.
Each time you configure a good setup for your vehicle, save it. This will create an <what you named it>.svn file in the directory associated with the current track you are racing ine.
When you save you can scroll up the list of tracks in the "save setup" folder and put them at the top for a common access point, rather trying to find a certain setup some where in the labarynth of tracks you will end up with installed.
I'm sure Glen will give the directory to save these too, if not, I will update this tonight.
Steps:
Download from link
open in Winzip
extract to [this is the missing file directory that some one will give you soon]
hopet this helps.
workaround:
enter the track to practice
goto setups
save a the current setup with a file name eg mymini
then exit
then search your rFactor file directory for
mymini.svn
you will know where to extract the files too.
edit:
this may not help, I have Vista
my directory for Brandshatch dir for setups in rFactor is
C:\Users\Lemmy Caution\Documents\rFactor\userdata\flattop\Setting s\Brands Hatch Gp
