Cloning Hard-drives?

Anyone had any experience or advise on doing this. My root drive is getting on in years and not that big so was thinking of replacing it with a new larger one, but rather than go thru the lengthy exercise of re-installing everything would like to try just moving everything off my C Drive onto a new one. Whats the best software to use or avoid?

but the last time i did do a diskcopy was at work and it was using commercial symantec ghost ...... :)

There is a much easier way, get Hiren's boot cd ver 10.0, boot into Dos mode, select backup tools and just use Nortons Ghost, works a treat.

Its an ISO file, just burn to cd then boot from it.
