You may ask why do this but i feel it has many advantages, One of the main ones being that HistorX runs best as a seperate install, When you start adding mods to your Rfactor-HistorX install thats when the HDV mismatches start online.
Easy way to do seperate installs is to just install and leave you main rfactor install into the default directory, C:\Programs\rFactor. We can use this install for Tracks and testing out mods.
Then install rfactor again but this time make a directory C:\HistoricGT and install rfactor into there. Then install the historX mod to that location. Once you have done this go into the rfactor root folder (historX) C:\HistoricGT and look for a file called Config which opens with notepad. open this now.
now change TracksDir line to below:
TracksDir=C:\PROGRAM FILES\RFACTOR\GAMEDATA\LOCATIONS\

what this does is allows you to run many different rfactor installs but you only have to install tracks into the one spot. Also when you do this before you start the game be sure to copy and paste .PLR folder over to the new directory, Other wise it will ask you for activation.
So in short when you install new tracks put them to C:\PROGRAM FILES\RFACTOR\GAMEDATA\LOCATIONS\
I have 5 installs of rfactor, 4 of my favourites and 1 is for testing and track location.
