Just quickly on your thoughts for the Formation lap and the Compulse pit stops. Compulse Pitsops would be used for the feature races only and not in sprint racing. Tonight wasnt ideal for having compulse PS but at least everyone learned how to pit :)
I thought we could mix it through out the season having sprints and then having a feature race mixed in the rounds with compulse pitstop.
*Also instead of the formation lap we can have a recon lap where we start form out pit garage and make our own way to the grid.
Also a big welcome to more new guys that are coming everyweek!

Liked the pitstops, didnt think the formation lap adds anything though.

I agree, formation lap a bit pointless, but as We do in another league, If there are some major incidents during the start of the race, as there will be with the faster cars occasionally, then a restart is easy with Rfactor.
Race 1 brought the Mini home 3rd, behind Paul's Mini, good racing all.
Race 2, a BIG Apology to Flattop for shoving Him off the road as I entered the pit at the end of lap 1, Won't happen again mate, I'll have to Map some keys for Pit in/out. Then after the pit got baulked by Sulio and Ash, which cost me lots of time.
Got past them the following lap and then Hunted down Reilly in the Cortina for 5th to finish.
I have to ask what are some of You new guys using for controls, Xbox360 game pads?, or the keyboard?, as You are weaving all over the road at times.
Yes please no more reverse or random Grid stuff, just makes it more frustrating at times.
Anyway enough of my rant, looking forward to next week at Lemans and the GTC-76'S.

Hey IMP you think you were bauked? I think Sulio has a very wide mustang! And it also seams to wander of line in a straight line????

Hi Fellas,
Imp, did'nt mean to baulk you just did'nt notice you ever got the front end in on the corners, you need more practice mate. :) Anyhow as a starter on rFactor my apologies to you and anybody else that I might have bumped or knocked. Just a note on my connection last night at times all the cars would actually dissapear off the screen. I'm away for the week for work hence the dodgy WiFi Zone hotspot Wirless Hotel Connection on my lap top.
The only replay I had on my computer was a hot lap so I'll need to sort that out. Anybody posting replays on You Tube?
Cheers,
Sulio

First the Good Bits;
So pleased to see so many new racers joining, ir is still early days for the league and this is a good sign, I know if you stick out the frustrating intial learning curve of the sim etc, it will be satisfying and entertaining for you all.
Getting the pitting organised, took a leaf from (GYWAR/Imperious?) book, and set the pit board on the line in the grid, saved time, and saved revving my engine to bits (-: Thanks
Excellent idea to have a mixed race season, allow us to hone our endurance/reliability skills along with our sprint skills.
I think the formation lap works for rolling start 'round n round the USA track" type racing, but we have now learnt how to do it, ready for future use.
Good to see the minis pulling good positions and pushing that big beast of Glen's.
Now the not so good bit/s.
I wasn't my night, I think racing off for dinner, racing home and jumping in, I didn't settle down, I had put in slightly better times in the Alfa that I pulled last night, but more importantly I repeated the same mistake in both races, let the back end get away after the chase, in race one it took over 2 minutes to get out of the gravel! GRRR
Just got out in time with an overheating and smoking engine (gotta just love that realism, it is times like this you wish it was more arcadey), trail of smoke for another lap, engine cooled, went into pit but the race was over.
No problems Imperious, I did get into rhythm and I thought I had caught you unaware and moved up the inside to overtake, found a few objects and found myself in the pit lane, went in pitted and exited got a bit fuzzy and went, ahh well, the mountain claims another hahaha.
On the formation lap, I cut a corner at the top, and slammed into an invisible object, must have looked as strange to you Imperious as my surprise, then I had trouble untangling myself as I was afraid of backing into the gravel!
It was supposed to be a fun night, and I did have some fun, will put a bit of time into getting as tame a car as possible for LeMans.

Sulio and Ash,
Sorry about the post, when I said I was baulked it didn't mean either of You should have gotten out of my way.
All it mean't was I was faster overall, but that's my problem to get past, we were all racing for position.
If anything I was more frustrated by the out of control cars in front, and the random grid thing, but hey, it doesn't matter. :)

OK, i could see that a formation lap had a good use in open wheelers as it let you heat the brakes and tyres and get rid of some nerves, I think most dont see the point in it and to be honest besides it being a little fun it can open up more problems.
Secondly i will have a look at the grid edit program, If its easy then i will use that if not i will do it manually but i will need someone in TS to read the grid out as i cant take a screenie anymore as HistorX doesnt allow me to Alt-Tab out.

HI Imp
Not a prob I just thought after you got past me and I finnaly got past my buddy sulio I held the gap for about 3 laps so I didnt think I was that slow :)
All
As it was a fun night I think there was a little more loose racing but I would expect once we get to the season racing everone will have had a chance to have a race and be a bit kinder :)
Also I think thats one thing that is good (some may not agree) with pits as If you are fast and pit early you have to think about repassing slower cars that have every right to be racing you for postions as a pose toi being lapped were they should jump out of the way

I can adjust the blue flags distance in the dedi, also we can choose what the punishment will be as well, whether a drive thru or a full 30 sec Stop Go if the driver chooses to ignore the flag. So the game can take care of that side of things as far as blue flags go, as for faster cars pitting early and then climbing back up the race order i expect everyone, whether you be the fastest or the slowest to show respect and be patient in waiting for the correct opportunity to make a pass. :upskirt:
I'm hoping to trial a top5 shootout for one longer race as well.

HI Imp
I acctually watched the replay of the second race and after watching we definatly slowed your progress on that last race as when I got oput of the pits infront of you I just changed my rears and it was alot more tail happy than I expected. Then I got caught up with Sulio and was fairly untidy after I cleared sulio though I started to very slowly reel you guys back in a little(not saying I could have beaten you thought:) )
Anyways after reveiw I just wanted to say that there were a few iffy moves on my part and in a points race I wont be driving quite so messy :)
