Cant find the thread. Which track? (VirtuaLM I'm guessing) and which cars are we using?

I'd say, looking at the ratings for the 4 available tracks, then Le Mans 72-86 should be the one.

GTC-76 Cars was mentioned before the end tonight.

This is going to be an interesting race. Long straights are either going to make or break cars.

Oh, how do you get the mirrors up? I've tried everything but the button don't work!!!

Imperious and I had a few minutes at LeMans last night, what HOOT. I can't speak for Imperious but my sequence of events were:
Get a car, take it is easy until the first looooooooooooooooong section
Flat OUT
watch speed
WOW WEE!
288
289
290...
SHARP TURN!
LARGE DAMAGE BILL!
get another car
repeat...

haha, I only got one full lap in 30 minutes, not one timed lap, and killed 2 different makes of cars many times.
But I loved teh leap @~300kph!
Should be a good race once, I learn the track!
Each car I choose, Imps selection just disappeared into the distance ont he first straight, that vette sounds fantastic!!!

Mr Fox
20-09-2008, 09:47 AM
what sort of times are you doing Imp?

The secret here is find the aero balance, take wing off to increase straight line speed, and its very tip toe thru the windy bits.
Least is is in every other mod I,ve tried on this track, havent tried HistoriX yet.

I dont think any of the cars have wing adjustment :)

Just tried the '72 Porsche and did a 4.30 but just for a laugh tried the 906 and got that down to a 4.23. That is a wonderful car to drive, powerslides as so easy to control and nice over kurbs. Probably a closer match to the Panteras to?

Mr Fox

i broke 4 min in the GT40 @ LeMans

Yes but I was also aware that it may be a bit of an admin nightmare, but Im keen if it can be done at your end!

On second thought...
Just tried the DeTomaso and did 4.05 without touching a thing so much to my reluctance might have to forgo a Porsche this time.

Mr Fox

i think the 7 litre corvette would be a better match for the pantera, Its very easy to add that car. I shall trial today or if someone else can give it a run then then we will see.

Hi all,

I'm back from my business trip, anybody practicing tonight???

I'll probably pick the Pantera, i found it the easiest to drive (I never thought i would say those words!)

My first runs around here were very similar to FT, i must of written off a couple of million dollars of exotica :fear:

The Ferrari sounds staggering, who ever did the audio was a genius. Unfortunately, i couldn't keep it on the track.

Hopefully see some of you tonight :bananapartyhat:

Of 10 laps, I only just completed 1 and got a 4.56 I think in the 2600. Tried my steering wheel again to see if it would make it easier, it wasn't. Guess i'm so used to KB now. Im sure a good qualtiy one and maybe better setup would be a lot better, but I have a real car to spend money on atm. Maybe next year.

Just finished cutting a few laps with, Glen, Sulio and Ash.

Had a ball dicing with Glen in the Big Block Vette, very easy car to drive, but 20kph slower than the Pantera down the straight. Best of a 4.11 for the Vette and a best of 4.05 in the Pantera.

Was always planning on using the Pantera, but the dicing with Glen has put a doubt in my mind, the racing in the vette could be better. Decisions, decisions.

You need to stick it out with the Wheel, eventually You'll never go back.

Tried the Ferrari, stiffened the suspension considerably to help control the extreme lurching whenever it gets near a corner. It still lurches but not as bad.

Managed a 4.15, maxes out at 183mph (295km/hr), reckon another 3 secs is possible.
It's how well You can attack the corners that makes the biggest difference to lap times.

Any objections to starting Qualifying at 8PM and running the session til 8:45 (Long Track) then race start at 8:50? Im unsure of how many west aussie's we have in the league.

I'm okay with that.
ONow onto the car selection:
The Capri gets me into less problems, but what a hoot those Vettes are, the one lap I was following you Glen in your BMW, down the straights I had an arm out the window, steering with one leg and rolling a smoke! (virtually only), :bananapartyhat:
I had laugh when I tore a front corner off, the big vette was still as fast as the escort in normal condition. :bounce:
With patience I could have got back to the pits for repairs in the vette from half way round.

gawaterman

Didnt think the Escort was available?

4.08 vette time :Banane36:

Great time Glen,

I just did some laps, best of 4,05 in the Pantera.

The best i could do in the Vette was 4,10.

I know (i think !) i should be able to complete 10 laps in the Vette.

I'll be in hospital with all the Ferrari drivers if i use the Pantera :fear:

I'm cool with what ever time :Banane20:

Mr Fox

I cant see to many peeps keeping the Pantera off the wall or...on the ground for to long.

Even if I did get one lap in at 4:0x in the fast cars, there would be too many opportunities to smack it up with the odd concentration lapse, so happy to see Sprinterboy and I are close on times in the slower cars, we can race it out between us, just don't blow our doors off down the straight in lap 5! haha
I like the Capri in HistorX, I have been running default except for the final drive ratio, it is predictable and most of the time forgiving. (better than the GTL version)
Can't make it tonight for practice (although I DO need it) , see you at the latest wed ~8pm
Look our for the little 'red back capri)

Did a practise race offline

Didnt make it past the first lap with the pantera.

Got though the whole race with the capri!

I did come off in the Capri but managed to keep off the walls as when I lost it in the pantera I ripped the whole side of the car.

I think I might stick with the capri :) no. 54

I think all 3 classes offer great cars, its good to see people picking the car that they know that they should finish in baring race incidents. Interesting to see who turns up in what, so far, everyone looks to be making good choices.:upskirt:

Just had a look, you should have plenty to do there, I cubby houses for the kids look like fun. All the flowers will be covered in ice at night in Canberra at this time of the year :fear:

The breaze was a bit fresh, but it was nice there and the crowds were watching some creapy carnies do their thing, so it was nice and quiet. :D
