Missed the post about the early start and the fact that they had updated the track.
Is there a way we can do a race mail or something Glen?

What a bummer, never had a lose at the hump, till the 1st lap, backed off too.Crawled back to the pits with half destroyed car and then pitcrew refused to touch it.Few others had same problem.Hope ya had fun.

Sorry mate, i crashed out lap 4 or 5 and then limped back to the pits, they fixed my car and i was off again. So i dont know what happened with your pitcrew.

Was just thinking that, a race post might be easier and would be very useful.
For next week, the Porsche 911 S, is that the on in the LM72 pack?
Just ran a few laps at Nuerburg to soothe my anger and was wonderful, I feel much better now, did a 1.42 as well if your wondering.

You guys that had pitstops not work, did You actually request a pit?, if not then that is probably why it didn't work.

Onto the race, got a great start, but as expected got swamped by all the Pantera's on the straight, so was 4th by the end of lap 1.
Eventually Paul caught me due to my being slowed by Humper's Pantera through the twisty section, great drag down the straight there!
Somewhere around lap 5 or 6 I slightly hit the wall, no obvious damage, still handled the same, but lost 3 MPH (5 K'S) on the straight. later did the same thing again and lost another 3 MPH, so had no way of catching Humper after that.
Overall an awesome track, and easily the longest straight I've ever raced (Virtually) on, would love to do that one again sometime.

Great to see some new faces and old GTL'ers back again. :)

Congratulations to RPO on the Win, and Paul for the Class win and overall 2nd place.

Sorry to see there was ~50% attrition rate, although I think LeMans is less nasty than Mt Panorama, it was the extremely fast cars that bit here.
But good to see 13 on the grid for a fun night, I learnt this group of cars are not as bad to drive as I thought, and all the newer races picked up some points on the sim.
My tough little Capri survived a couple of "opps", not just because it was an easy car to control than some, with slightly less speed and power, it kept me away from very high speed armco hits.
Thought I was going to get the better of Ash in the early laps, even got an opportunity to pull past on the home straight, only to forget the little hump at the Tyre Bridge, moved over, and door rubbed you Ash, sorry mate, very pleased you were not damaged.
I think my eye balls were on the screen, as I held my nerve and ran along the armco towards "THE POLES" on the outside of the first left hander, luckily I got the little devil slow and it fitted between the poles!
I then set about attempting to catch Ash, which didn't happen haha
Who put he can of Bon Ami in my air intake? My little car got slower by 1 or 2 ks per lap.
Man did those fast machines leave me for dead on the lapping, I had hoped to slip in for some slipstreaming, but it all happened too fast to jump on the train.
This track needs to be used again...
Thanks for the fun night.

Well not a great race for me, punctured a Tyre before the first corner noticed that others were not getting serviced in pits so just kept circulating for a few laps trying to keep out of the way, then pulled the pin

Must agree with Flattop though this is an excellent track and would be great to use again.

Maybe with a year or two's practice who knows I might even get competitive.

Thanks All great Night

Thanks for the racing guys, great night.

I have to thank who ever it was who typed "Don't go on 0" when we were sitting on the grid, cuz i would have gone....

Glad i decided on the Pantera, the sheer drama of controlling it kept you on your toes. I was lucky enough to make an early break so very few dramas, except for brain fade on the last lap where i spun after the flat right hander around the back of the circuit, luckily no damage and made the finish line.

I did end up half way down the straight before i was sure i had finished! I was expecting something on screen like GTR/GTL, i could see the chequered flag but didn't trust it:noidea:

Congrats to the podium, well done Humper on your first drive.

Looking forward to Season 2, i can't believe how much better the netcode is than GTR :bananapartyhat: It allows for close racing.

Eventually Paul caught me due to my being slowed by Humper's Pantera through the twisty section

How do I get the blame for that? Paul was faster than the both of us, so you were going to be passed with or without me. Oh and slowing right down in the turns is the only way of keeping "Death on a stick" off the armco! :fear:

Well i think the earlier start was good and wouldnt mind getting some feedback from everyone, from a personal perspective it suits me much better but im not the only one here :)

onto the race

Qualifying i enjoyed having that run for 45 min aswell, takes the pressure off when you come up to a slower car there's no stress.

The race start was incredible for me with all the ferrari music :band: playing in my ears i could barely hear my own motor. Coming into the first corner was very neat by everyone and i have to say i have been impressed with everyone's driving. I had a brain fade and never really felt confident in car i had done a couple of laps in after switching from the vette, The setup RPO passed on was much better than default "thanks".
The braking, and becoming used to doing 300Klm's combined with the hump in the straight certainly makes you concentrate. Braking i found to be critical in putting in a good laptime, also the left handers where the road cambers away i just loved. This track i can just drive and drive. :Banane52:
I crashed :fear: at the ferris wheel turn of death and had to complete a lap with a wierd ass car that would turn left under brakes and go right with the loud pedal. Eventually made it back to the pits for repairs, headed back out to find myself in persuit of Flattop, after bruce Ash was in my sights, 46 secs, next split 23 then.......chequered flag. noooooooooooo

The track is very emersive and was hoping to get a twilight finish but i didnt want to cut it to close as headlights can be a massive fps hit.

Welcome to humper and hope to see more ex-GTL hardcore around in the near future. Also welcome to some more new guys aswell. hope you all enjoyed yourselves!:Banane57:

Yeah, My wording there could have been better.

I wasn't prepared to make a desperate lunge to pass You, as You weren't making any mistakes, and the Pantera is a wide car. When I did get past, it was at the start of the main straight, so no chance of staying ahead, then I made a mistake, hit the wall, and lost straight line speed thereafter.
Paul caught us both at the best places on the track to take advantage of it.
Overall He was faster though, especially through the twisty bits, I was running a much taller gearing set too, which cost me a bit of acceleration.

So, no, I'm not blaming You Humper, but is is a fact that through the corners whilst behind You my lap times were suffering, but that's racing, and it rarely goes exactly as planned, out of the 5 Ferrari's, 2 of us finished.

Yeh, definitely did, never had that problem with rfactor before.
Was pretty destroyed though, no front wheel, infact I dont think there was anything left forward of the firewall.

HI all

Decieded early to run the capri cause I keep crashing the Pantera in pratice.

This turned out to be a wise decision as I can 5th outright and 1st 3ltr:bananapartyhat:

Had a great battle with flatop early on we had a few rubs but was all good :)

middle race was a bit lonely until geln had to pit to repair and I though with a few laps to go and a 1min30 or so lead on him I may just be able to stay infront. I pushed hard for the remaning laps and finished not far infont of him :)

Cannot wait for season 2 to start :)

That track was too long for my taste. Did'nt see many cars in the 3.0L class and got passed by the big bangers. I was quite sick with the flu and bailed out about half way as the sneezing and fever just got to be too much whilst driving.

Looking forwad to watching replay to see how the other fellas faired.

Cheers,

Glen73 Feedback:
I think the earlier start was good longer Qualifying also good, But i think 10 laps on that track is a bit long maybe 2 races of 3 laps & 5 laps might keep the interest alive longer plus the guys with pit stop problems would have had a second race to look forward to. Would love to use this track again but maybe in a sprint format.

Cheers

As to the earlier start, it suits me too, middle of the week and like most, get up early.

One thing I have just noted after reading through the reports and thinking about my races here at HistorX, I'm not used to being in traffic and can and do misjudge braking around others.
Hopefully this part of my driving will improve too.
The race time certainly changed the perspective of the track with the long shadows down the straight, but certainly added interest.
As to the 'lonelyness', when we run this track again, and I sure hope we do, we need to narrow down the class 0f he cars to allow for closer racing, and also allow at least one sprint styly in the fa

Yep the earlier time is great!

I'm torn about this track.....

It is stunning to look at the graphics are amazing, but the straight is a killer, it seems to take forever to cover.

I don't think it will be a sympathetic track for..... dicing as the speeds and risks are so high. I find it more treacherous than Bathurst (but i do love Bathurst, just got to get familiar with this layout, it seems a little odd over the top of the mountain!) A couple of true endurance races would be fantatic, 2-3 hour minimum, did someone say Sandown 500 :eyebrows:

The early start is fine with me, but please keep in mind that during the Daylight saving Period, Us QLD'ers will be starting an Hour earlier than Southerners.

I agree next time We do Leman We should all be running the same class, however 1 crash and it will be a lonely race no matter what, as It's an enormous track, imagine if We had done Nordschleife!!

Yep, agree with everything Imperious posted, early start time suites me, and 1 class would be better, at least until we get 20+ runners
