my first ever laps around here, what a PITA track!!

did about 7 laps and got a best of a 1:44.1 but very messy. Couldn't remember what corners were coming up

This one will need heaps of track time!

I managed a 1.45 plenty of room to improve but the track is very unforgiving, its a take at 80-90% to be safe or 100% and run the risks...

Perhaps more time on track will help

Same cars/numbers as the last race.???

1:43:207 my best at the moment, but getting quicker every time I do a short session. This track seems to be all about confidence, blind crests and quick chicanes an so on.

I am sure the quickest guys will be well in the 42s or even 41s by qualifying.

I am loving this mod btw :) - my first taste of reelfeal and I like!

Good fun tonight with Jeff, DmX, Ash and late comer Andy.

Did a best of 1:42.2, just couldn't get my act together for a 1:41. It is definitely there, man it is going to be a frantic race.

Might need a 30minute rest stop between races for us old blokes to recover :tape:

Thanks Glen / Flattop
Flattop shared Glens setup with me and I started actually completing laps without major dramas which resulted in times going from mid 1:50s to reasonably consistent 1:46s, I must admit the way my times were going i was thinking of giving it away as improvement was so slow.
So thanks guys I now feel great about things, I'll never win a race but if I can circulate without creating havoc then I'm happy.:bananapartyhat:

Cheers

I had noticed the you had few "offs" and in all the places I used to, and was sure that a 'good' setup would help. I know, I have been there!
I am so pleased that you are determined to stick with it, once you get beyond the frustrating early learning curve with simple crackups, this is FUN.
I too will never win a race, but I get so much excitment and fun out of it. (And I have met and now fortunate enough to have some more friends out of this online racing thingy too).
If you are stuck, just ask.
I'm sorry it was only me on yesterday, I attempted to lead you through some of the turns, but ask some of the good ones to lead you through a lap or two at half pace to show you the lines.
Looking forward to dicing with you on Wednesday Dave'o, see you there...

Did a 41-398 with 15lps fuel :bananapartyhat: sorry mate ...40's r there but it has 2 b a bloody perfect lap ,doing 41 's is sooooooooo on the limit ...race pace will be in the 42's i reckon

To guys that struggle getting up 2 speed one thing i found to make me faster was on pratice night's or race nights click on a faster guys name's in the driver list and watch them on ya TV screen at the bottom (click ya mouse on little screen 4 full screen ) now go around the track either in cockpit view or bonnet view with the driver ...the idea now is to watch .ie: watch the lines they take coming up to corners and throu the corners - where there braking - what gear's they use at certain corners ... do this and u will find out were u mite be making mistakes and losing time on you lap .after watching and remembering what they did go out and do the same and watch your lap time's come down ..it mite only be a couple of seconds but u will find you will get faster ... it worked 4 me hopefully it works 4 u

the fastest i'm doing is 1.44, but pretty rare. Had a go of Sprinterboy's joystick and got used to it pretty quick, can definately feel the advantage of the analog acceleration, braking and steering. Ill definately have to get a G25. The keyboard just doesnt cut it any more.

i with i was racing karts around Bathurst - would be nuts lol. Or maybe they should make a kart sized version of Bathurst like they did at Phillip Island, now that would be cool.

Yes, BJSRacer, it's the Austeam event - looking forward to it, going to be a long day though.

Ahhhhhhhhhh,

I have finally figured out your cunning plan BJ....

Wind up all the drivers, and make them crash trying to fulfill your prophecy :tape:

Hmmmm, but sub 1:40's, you could be onto something here....

If we were driving GT40's :bounce:

lol...... i really am just winding you up........

I'm just frustrated i won't make it because i really like this track.......and i was only just getting used to the lotus as well........maybe sub 40 is stretchin it, but i was able to do a low 41's with relativley basic setup (thanks Stain) and only a few test stints and at the corners i still felt i hadn't hit the brake marker or the apex or exit quite right yet.....so in my mind, so far away from my PC, i'd like to imagine a sub 1:40.....1:39.998 perhaps :p
