Ok,

Here is my setup.

It is a bit of a pain, as i have to drag my monitor and mouse off the desk and onto the Hyper, then the keyboard sits on the chair.

http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r189/rangie86/Games/L1000408s.jpg

And here is the spare, just in case :fear:

I bought a G25 because the Hyper doesn't have Vista 64 drivers yet, and i thought it was about time to see how FFB has progressed, but it just doesn't work in the hyper without cutting it up.

http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r189/rangie86/Games/L1000410s.jpg

The long term plan is to sell both and build a custom cockpit, probably a stupid thing to do, because the hyper is so comfortable, but.....

Sorry about the big photos, i haven't reinstalled photoshop yet!

Snakeyes shame you're not in Melbourne it only takes a couple of days from start to finish, I built mine with a sedan feel in mind higher seating etc with castors as it has to be moved out when I lower the slot car track which is the roof in the room.
but you could do it low as per the Hyper Stimulators, had a look at theirs as their place is about 5 min from my home, pretty simple but very comfortable.
have seen a couple of theirs on Ebay at reasonable prices keep an eye open.

shouldnt be too hard.

Some preliminary design Ideas for a race cockpit.
This is more of a TinTop setup, as compared to the HYPER. The seating position is modeled off an 02 Lancer.
Ive started laying the second one out full size in AUTOCAD, and will model in 3ds max when its finalised.

Feedback and sugestions welcome.

A carpenter friend of mine is keen to comercialise a cockpit design and could build to order if required.

rpo83
16-06-2009, 09:41 AM
Nice designs Maddog,

I have been promising myself to design a new cockpit that will incorporate a H shift, but i haven't got around to it. Because the Hyper has done so well for me over the last 2 seasons, there was no hurry. I would love a proper 3 pedal box, H Shift and FFB wheel though.

Keep us informed about how your plans progress.
