If you have already Downloaed the Monza 67 track you will have to re-download it as we are now using the 1988 version. The track schedule has been updated. Unfortunatly the 67 monza cannot be used as there is only 20 pit boxes and considering we had 22 last night its better to be safe than sorry. Your all gonna need to fill the cars right up at the start and again during pit. Going off how mucht the beast uses, maybe a 2 stop? lol Depends on the total laps i guess.

It's OK,

I've got a plan!

I'm going to draft the leaders for 90% of the race, :tape: Fuel economy mode, then drive by as they pit :bananapartyhat:

Just keep it quiet, so they don't hear about my cunning plan hehe....

In reality though, i would conservatively say 95% of the entrants will CRASH their brains out driving these death traps :fear: Survival of the smartest...

I got no idea mate, bruce put the track and cars together for this season. Maybe he didnt realise there is blue GT's aswell, but you do realise red is faster:)

Just jumped on for a few laps and did some 58's fairly comfortably. I was mainly gaining time by making adjustments and trying to get the thing to stop squirming under brakes. Im not going for a qualifying setup, like the Elans i will be making a race setup and hopefully that will get me home for some valuable points :)

ummm, there are blues ones too! ohhh yeah I Knew that, it because, because

as Glen said!.

(I only remembered the red GT40 from GTL, but if there is a choice of 2, wow, that is only going to confuse me, I think the voices will return, now that I have to make a decision... :tinfoil3:)

Hopfully see a few off ya on 2night
Fianally got the beast into the 53's ...its definately a car you have to be kind 2 as it can bite ya back in a big way ...and the old rule off slow in fast out really applies with these things

I'll try and get on, probably won't be until 8 though...

1:53's WOW, that is haulin'

My best so far is a clean 1:54.8 I did a 1:53, but it was while i had an excursion at the first chicane!

I can put together a string of 1:55's by myself on an empty track.

However with 20 other cars around you making one hell of a lot of noise, who knows what the race will hold :fear:

I jumped on last night and a wrestle with the GT40 (the blue one of course), and until Glen assisted, now lighter and with good turn in. The speed of the thing catches me out and entering too fast, so I still 7-9 secs behind.

And this is going to be scary if everone turns up! :scared:

Hmmm,

I might start from the back of the grid, wait until the carnage at turn 1 has cleared and cruize through, but maybe not.

There are going to be a lot of damged GT40's after this race. At Birmingham we saw a lot of 3 wheeled lotii, i am tipping for this round we will see a lot more 2 wheeled written off GT40's :fear:

Pay those insurance policies, this is going to get expensive :Banane20:

Thanks RPO83 for the help last night, I've fully manualised the G25, H pattern shift auto clutch off clutch pedal assigned. problem I have is that if i'm breaking I can't throttle blip (maybe this is normal ???) I would of thought that with the clutch depressed and heel & toeing the engine would free rev'

Ahh,

I have just had a thought!!!

Make sure you have split axis', when you are in the controls settings page, watch what the bar graphs do.

What happens if you have 100% brake, keep left foot on the brake pedal, now apply throttle..... Does anything happen to the brake %'s??

SpeedFreak
20-10-2008, 06:48 PM
just a little hint about braking on long back straight ...hope it helps

20-10-2008, 08:40 PM
What brake pressure, F - R % is good to use?

redwog
20-10-2008, 09:49 PM
I am in the 55s but consistency is difficult. My best splits have me in the 54s.

The first corner is a gonna be a doosie, any time you are close to someone its gonna be tricky in the breaking zone as these things can get unsettled very easily.

I think breaking 50 metres earlier than usual should be the approach for everybody into turn 1 through the chicanes and then again into the next slower left chicane.

It will be fun for those who make it through the first lap.

Mr Fox

What brake pressure, F - R % is good to use?

i cant remember off the top of my head, i think the car doesnt turn in that well because of the mid mount motor, also the brake bias is around 48-49 for the same reason.

RPO83 thanks mate you nailed it, the axis was wrong on the pedals, Thanks also to BJS Racer who talked me thru re configuring the axis. What a difference, this thing is so much easier to drive, couldn't complete a lap prior to the changes straight away i was able to peel off 15 laps straight without a drama (Gotta love that throttle blip) :Banane31: now to start working on the lap times :ohwell:.

Thanks again Guys

To help the car turn in, i use 47:53 but you must trail brake, or it is over.....

This makes the car very loose, but at least it turns :)

I had a go with Jeffs setup last night, much easier to drive, but still understeer. It was far more stable under brakeing than mine. I need to find a compromise between the 2 setups.

The braking is going to be the killer due to the high terminal speeds, this one is going to take a lot of concentration...

Glad we got to the bottom of it Dave,

When i was watching and listening to you drive, i knew something was going on :ohwell:

Pity you didn't have it setup for the previous races, it may have made your life easier. You will have to go back and drive the Porsche and Lotus again. you will have a whole new appreciation of them :bananapartyhat:

Oh by the way,

How many laps is the race going to be on Wednesday?

I had missed the "1 race schedule" post for this event. I was just speaking to Humper and he mentioned only 1 race.:fear:

This will change my complete strategy...... Now it is imperative for calm for the first couple of laps, and make sure you can drive your setup consistently for 45 minutes, currently i'm shagged after 2 laps.

Hi RPO, i will be aiming for a 45 min race, so a rough average for the whole field will be around 2 min per lap so at a guess i would say 23 laps, yes 23 laps it is :band:

Closely followed by the horrific sound of crumpled metal at turn 1!

It's a good thing GT40's are cheap and readily available. I might bring a couple of spare cars with me for this round. Hope they all fit in the transporter. :wof:

I feel like it is possible to get a decent setup for 23 laps, still searching though. Also to much risk for me trying to run 55's. The braking is the biggest problem....
