I asked W26 if i was able to organize PI and Bathurst on thier respective weekends and he said no worries, he wanted some time to get his NZ series up and about.

I thought about this for a little while and would to know how many would be interested in doing a full hotswap enduro on those respective nights. Im proposing 4 hour enduro's for each event with qualifying decided by drawn out of a hat. Anyone can enter with P.I. being the first event.

Post your interest below. Car reg's will be casual and yes you can enter solo as well.

Hope to get some good response for this as i reckon it would be a lot fun if you arent doing anything on those nights. I will put in the extra server cost for the extra slots.

Is it still going to be real v8's weekend?
I am the same as all above, will be there if it doen't affect me watching the real thing and also I am not the fittest guy around, I will need a co-driver as well.

W26

As this is part of the continuing Scars series, I will be in my normal BOC car

A 3am finish is too late for me. I'm out.

I will be there if it sat night can't race during the day.
But for four hours will need to team up as well. If dev is unavailable for any reason i would be more than willing to team up Wally. Only thing is if it starts earlier than 8 would need you to do first stint as have kids to get settled and wife will be work

See what happens Benny, I actually watch Bathurst with my father on Sundays and he is 2.5 hours drive away. As I like to watch the whole thing from the start of the telecast in the morning a 4 hour race might be a bit too much. I will think about it but not 100% sure if I will make it.

Will end up well after midnight when it is finished.

here's an idea benny, if glen will let four of us drive, Rusty can do the first stint, then devil(so the nz giys arent up too late, then me (so i can get off to bed) and you holding the last stint for us?... rusrt has agreed , now we just got to hear from devil... We could be the Saturday Factor Team.

Hey guys, We can cut it to 3 hours for PI and see how that works out, Being a saturday night when people are sometimes busy thats fine. I thought we dont do the hot swap enduro's very often. I was thinking a 8PM-sharp start through to 11PM.

If you havent done one of these before they are a lot of fun and I encourage anyone half thinking about it to give it a go.

P.I. would be in my top 5 tracks, Bathurst on the other hand is a love hate thing.

what about a half mile oval............ that would be so awesome, no?

Ill be at Philip Island for the race (4 days, house on the Island) so that counts me out of that, but Bathurst should be ok

Hi everyone, what I am about to write is not meant to offend anyone so please don't take it that way.

At this point in time the numbers are a little down. Everyone has their reasons for this ranging from too many posts on the forum which Glen has thankfully cleaned up through to they actually lead a life, unlike me lol. I personally think that races of the length's of 3 or four hours with hotswaps wouldn't be the way to go at this time. It effectively cut's the field down by half. Maybe even more if there was more teams like I was discussing higher in the thread with 4 drivers in the one car. That means there are 3 cars less than there could be in the race.

At Saturday Factor with our Retro league we have realized this and have made the format for our endurances to suit as I think everyone will agree, the more cars there is, the more fun it is. To make these events with hotswaps viable we would probably at least need 30 drivers and I honestly believe on these weekends you won't get that amount. My suggestion is maybe to make it like our enduros and make it 2x1 hr or 75 minute races with a bigger break in between for people to stretch/make coffee/have a beer/whatever and then on to the second half of the race.

As far as changing dates and/or tracks and/or making it an Oval type event, it has been drummed into me by management and driver's that what they really want is the V8 series on the same weekend and track as the real guys. So my suggestion is to keep to that and run Phillip Islands and Bathurst's on the correct weekend as to how the series was originally concepted anyhow.

Don't forget as well that most of the drivers who like these 4 hour events have already gone to another league to do that. Which suggests the numbers won't be great enough for us to race these lengths.

So, in summary, it is my personal opinion from months of hosting the V8's that running less distance and at the correct tracks/weekends is probably the way to go. Not that I am saying Glen's ideas aren't terrific, Just saying that it might not work at this time.

Hi glen you count me in for what ever format I have never done hotswap and I think it would be ball but if there isn't enough people to do it this time would love to try again when the numbers build up. Great idea maybe it is worth waiting a little longer to see what interest comes in over the following week and decide it it is do able then

In the end it's your show mate.. luckily there is heaps of time to set everything right.
My suggestions were just that... my suggestions..

I'll be running no matter what format although if it is the longer races, I might only run the first hour just to have some fun

I was under the impression you were putting that across as if you were running it. I suggested something to gain numbers in my PM to you so if that isnt going to go forward than I will let you continue to run it. I was only offering something different for the 2 enduro's. You have valid points so I will let you continue on.

Hey guys. It's been a little while since I was last on the forum even.

Sorted out all the crap in my life now so I'm free to do any length race (But as Rusty pointed out 3am is a bit ridiculous for us kiwis to finish a race). So I'm in for the 4 driver car if we are still allowed.

If it is a shorter race or one that will allow me to be in bed by around 1am (I work Sundays 8-4) I'll race in a 2 driver team or on my own.

dev

P.S great to see ya back here Glen.
