Season 3 Racing Teams.

Hey Guys,

As you guys have read in the offical season 3 thread. We are looking to have teams of 2 - 3 drivers per team.

I was also thinking maybe the teams should have atleast one novice driver and one reasonably experienced driver this way. The experienced driver could pass on his words of wisdom. What do you guys think? At the end of the day i guess its "Glen" and FT's decision on how teams should be done.

My Team Will be |SRT| - Satans Racing Team.

Driver 1: DmXtReMe.
Driver 2: Cerebus.
Driver 3: RPO83

Yep, I think an Admin should select the teams, all quick guys in 1 team will ruin the idea very quickly

I prefer 2 car teams, but I think we have too many cars in the series for it. Plus it will keep the guys doing the team car designs very busy. :D

Well, so far it's Sco_aus and myself, and if we're allowing teams of three then there is room for one more.

Redwog made some wicked skins for the cars.

More so for team points man, and also assist some of the new guys with car setups, how to drive the track ect ect. Hence why having an experienced driver paired with some of the new guys where its possible.

Well thats what i was thinking in terms of teams.

plus if we can get the newer drivers and myself included to drive better then we shall see alot more close racing :D which makes it all the more fun and more intense. :D

Hey guys, teams sound really cool!

I'll be a full-time driver for 2009 season so I would like to join up with a teamie if anyone wants me :) I'm definitely not the fastest driver out there, but am very consistent. My attitude towards racing is definitely more towards having fun with some mates, as I just don't have time to practice lots anymore. Though of course I'd welcome any tips on becoming a better driver anytime :)

Cheers mate, I'm not fussy who I team with so if you want to pair me up with someone - that's cool. When do we need to choose what car we want? I assume you then need to stick with that car for the season?

the first five races you use either a Cortina or an Alfa, then the remaining races either an Escort or Capri (my mind is going...)<------------it's ok i found it at the gate of your work!

I don't know whether being available to all races or not should prevent teaming up, in my case I'm likely to be there every race so it will even out.
I'm happy to team up with you, if it is okay, pick a car and team theme, I'll be in it.

Those are some great liveries SpeedFreak, in particular the Team Lotus and JPS ones but then I WOULD say that since I am quite the fan of the Lotus Cortina :). This will be great for those folks who need a good looking skin :thumb:.

I still haven't read all the proposals for season 3, and haven't driven the Cortina or Alfa yet, based on my GTL experience, the alfa would be my preference

easy,
save them as DXT5 and overwrite (make sure you back it up first) a skin that is already in game. If you have any probs just email the PSD
Limp5@tpg.com.au and i will put it in game for you. but i think it is worth learning.

Edit: make sure you untick the mesh and shader box then flateen the image and then save them as DXT5's

Glen, I've saved the DDS file and opened it in rFactor. Although my art work is ordinary I've gone for orange cars which stand out from other colours used. Was'nt sure about getting quality screen prints off the game. I've e-mailed you the dds files. What do I need to do now?

Team up with who ever, i feel like some sort of Nazi trying to make sure there is no advantages in the teams but how can we do this if we are running out of slower drivers. Doesnt help when some of the slower guys are teaming up with each other. Mis well put Prodge and BJ together aswell :shocked: :fear:

Well thing is I am not sure how we are classing who is a 'fast' guy or not. I am quite happy to team up with whoever is willing to take me to be honest. If Imp and Humper would like to team up then I will catch a ride with Redwog if that would make things easier. Saying that I am happy to race with Imp too :), whatever will suit everyone :thumb:

Perhaps we should have a list of folks in one post who are looking for a team and edit it as folks join up with others. I suppose that way we can at least quickly work out who needs a team mate.

Acer, most of us have teamed up with guys that are new to the game, most of them didnt even complete all of season 2. It gives them something good to aim for aswell as the rookie cup. If you go back to the first page of this thread then you can see how this came about. It was also brought up in the server by a few members that it would be a good idea to run it this way.
To be honest if none of you can find a newbie to team up with then its probably better you go solo, otherwise it sort of defeats the whole purpose of what was proposed 4 weeks ago.

Any chance you and dino would like to be broken up and each put with stronger drivers? We have a lot of faster guys atm and im just trying to balance it all out. Its a hard job.....
