Buh, this is the first i've heard of an official talk of rFactor 2. It's always just been gossip around the rFactor community. Although unrealistic in some cases, rFactor is fine for me now - i don't need a number 2.

They would have to make all the current mods compatable with rFactor1. You would hope so anyhow...

"After the long wait for CTDP 2006, it had finally been released. Sadly, however, rFactor 2 was released just days later. The developers of rFactor 2 alerted all modders that no mod for rFactor (the original) would be compatible with the new game and that any work should be started again. This was a sore stab in the back for F1 fans all over the rFactor community who have been waiting for Cars And Tracks Development Project's 2006 Formula One mod for some two years."

You could use the models from rF 1 and then create physics, sure you cant just "copy and paste" but it wont be impossible

A 3D model is a 3D model, it can be reused. Its called progress Webber, and it needs to be made eventually.

From what I can see, it's the BMW Sauber from CTDP06 with the steering wheel from the 2007 ISI/CTDP version, with some minor adjustments.

Easier because it's wrong ;)
I had a look at the CTDP 2006/07 and the MMG 07/08 BMW and the model/interior skin is that of the CTDP 2006 version with different mirror positions, and the CTDP 07 steering wheel.
