Yeh,had some great dices with J Alesi, although I thought the warping was good, several times it warped me from behind him to in front of him,at one spot it warped him from 2 places in front, to one behind.

Only problem I have now is next race, gotta pick another car, and I dont like any of the others:fear:

yer sorry for the tap Grant, you just appeared out of no where, i wasnt sure wether to wait to let you back through or just keep going as it wasnt really anyone's fault.

Good racing guys,

Race 1 was great, except for the start where everyone went.... ????????????? Do we go now??

Jeff talked me into changing cars for race 2, get out of the big block and into the 289. I was a little reluctant as i hadn't driven it or have a setup. When Glen was having problems starting race 2, i was watching Jeff drive the 289 around and it sounded SWEET, so i thought "what the hell have a bit of fun" :bananapartyhat:

Race 2 started well got the jump from Jim, as he was trying to unleash all that torque from the 427, but then totally stuffed up turn 1 and went from 1st to last :ohwell: had a bit of fun getting through the traffic, thanks for those who made room. Ended up 4th, but NEARLY caught Glen when he ran out of brakes on the last lap.....

Great racing, see you all next week.

I really felt like it was quite a lot of fun trying to manage my brakes in the second race, first race i think it was about lap 8 or 9 that they went, second race lap 11 onwards i had ziltch. Second race i just watched my brake temp's trying to not let my rears exceed 200 degrees which i did fairly well. then my motor oil got hotter and hotter and then the brakes went but i liked that as most mods (rfactor) you just drive the tits off the car and never give a second thought to the mechanicals or the durabilty of the car but tonight was different :)

What application do you use to monitor brake temps??

Or is this a realy stupid question and they are visible in the HUD, god i hope they are not :tape:

No problem, I know the same thing happened with Alesi too, but with the warping wasnt really anyones fault.
Remember at one stage after I,d warped ahead of him for about the 3rd time, I felt sorry for him, so slowed and let him past

I was suffering from a case of bad judgment and lag last night. Ended up banning myself half way through the first race, which I should have done sooner. Sorry all

Ahh, I had that in mind when choosing a car for this, a new track to me and knowing one of my favourite tracks is next week, Watkins Glen NASCAR, so I kept the best for last!
Once again, this mod and my better gear has made the cars such as the TVR, fun for me to drive. But I think it will be Daytona next week for me on that nice flowing, fast and elevation track...

haha being a motor mech, I don't look at those things such as brake temp etc, (Plus not sure where they are, only know where the tyres temps are)

The starts were the same for me, I strained to see if there were any lights, waited until I heard a determined engine noises and guessed it was time to go, worrying that my lack of sight would have some one run into me.
Race one, saw a Daytona sideways in the centre, judged it and powered past to see it rear end the wall, bad luck whom ever that was, took it cool through the first corners and realised the red wine was in effect and was even more cautious than normal as I wanted to try and stay in contact with some.
I remember the dices with Dmetrexe, he had me down the back straight, but if only one part I got right, I had the right hander at the end of the long straight nailed and caught him on the next corners, only to give him a nudge entering the home straight, still having trouble being so close to cars travelling at or less than my speed,
sorry for taps.
Race two I found my self with Imperious in my sights and racing him, man that surprised me, once again I saw an opportunity to get passed on my fav turn at the end of the back straight, slide a little wide and pushed him off, sorry, and very glad to see you on the edge and coming up.
Thanks for a fun night, I experienced stuttering during qual and one time warp in a race, but still fun and the track was less "plain" than I first invisiged.

I never watch the lights at race starts, always look at the hud, and the instant the timer starts, drop the clutch, got me many places in the 1st race,8th to 3rd from memory

Hey guys thanks for letting me join in the fun last night :) unfortunately the lag killed me i was stuttering every 5 seconds or so throughout the whole night, and it threw me off the track a few times, hope i did'nt spoil anyones race because of it, great combination of cars and track especially the sweeper at the end of the back straight, hope i'll be allowed to join in again.

regards,

Willy

Your welcome Willy, get along next Wednesday, Watkinsglen NASCAR, "Big Bangers" again. A good flowing track with great elevation changes, I am sure you will remember it from GLT days.

Yea was a resonable race but... i didnt finish either one :(

Race 1 - i had some good dicing with flattop until my car went awol accross the track.

Race 2 - I gave imperious quiet a nasty shove allthough i think he was out of control as i hit him. Sorry Imp if i stuffed your race. I know i killed mine ahh well thems the brakes i guess.

tbh iam not really a big car fan.

Sorry for the late reply.

No probs with me about any incidents I was involved in. After last weeks Escort race My new 1 TB hdd got so badly corrupted it killed Windows and all my game installs, so full reinstalls had to be done, very painstaking process. Before race this week I was having issues with Rfactor as the extremely annoying Trymedia activation system decided to require reactivating during Qualifying (due to a reinstall) and also I had used up all the activations.
That lead me down a different path for alternative solutions (no further explanation will be forthcoming!). Anyway, since Monday night I was having temporary freeze ups (game would lock for up to 1 sec then continue from where the car would have been, if during corners big problems), I think a combination of ATI driver issues and the Rfactor recent warping issue was the problem, not the alternative solution I previously mentioned.

Because of that I didn't want to start further up the grid and risk causing a major accident, as it was Humper went sideways and I smashed into him, causing a tyre blow.
2nd race more incidents, but to be honest I'm not bothered too much, will be back as normal for next weeks race.

I found my previously backed up trymedia file eventually, tucked away in a "safe place", so all is good there as well now.

see You's next week.

Sorry to hear of your issues i know i get monumentally pissed off when my machine is not running smooth, Thank god that doesnt happen very often.
