Hopefully some1 can answer this ..

A mate off mine carnt get Historics mod to work (Using Vista ) he can run any other mod and no problem but not historics...... below r some off his post hopefully some 1 has a answer

1st post

ok DLed the mod yesterday and threw in my GTL disc.... all good, fire up rFactor and get this...

"error loading mesh file SHWFLOOR2.GMT to memory"

I've reinstalled it but same issue, any thoughts there guys????

2nd post

the install is complete along with the fix patch, the game fires up and when you select a ve-hickle you get that annoying "ping", alt tab and its sitting there on the desk top.

3rd post

I've installed and un-installed the damn thing to death, loaded different mods over it and its always the same, the good news is it only effects the actual mod, not the entire game.

I always thought I was the admin for my PC and the right mouse thing really threw me...... its strange what it does, locks the game in the car selection screen, alt tab and close the error and go back in, you can select a car and enter a test/race session and flog the ringa out of it but as soon as you exit the track the game locks up for good, only control alt delete will sort it

I could be wrong but i recall something in the Historix mod manual about installing under vista, perhaps you could check that out? Try installing it on a fresh install of rfactor on it's own too, could try the rfactor lite install from rfcentral (thats how mine is installed). I'll have a looky online tonight when i get home if you haven't solved the prob by then.

i woud say that because Histor is a standalone install it would have something to do with Admin rights, he is best to post at RSC and someone will have an answer in 24 hours :)

Vista = Windows2000 so i cant help.

Mine installed perfectly under Vista 64.

I used rFactor lite for a fresh install and no probs.

He should try right clicking the install shortcut and selecting run as administrator.

I think that is the trick, i have installed successfully on Vista in the same manner.

one response to the same question http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?p=3861266
and

Vista is quite tricky, as you probably know already. Be sure that you install the mod with admin rights, and that you copy these files also with admin rights. It seems that something is wrong during that process. Regards from

I had a similar problem with rfactor when I got a my new pc with Vista64, though it was with the reelfeel plugin. It wouldn't let me save the changes I made in the ini file, plus I couldn't save setups either. The solution was to turn off UAC, then reinstall rfactor lite & mods etc. I haven't had any problems with installing any programs or mods, or any admin rights problems since. If you've done that already I'm not sure sorry.

Hi johnno,

Standalone is the only way to go in my opinion as i have seen many a problem with peeps trying to do multi installs in the one rfactor directory. Mainly this mod.

Good to hear you got it all going.
