Hi guys. Wally Masterson here.
It looks like rFactor/historx has a good following here. I've been racing at RaceDepartment in Race07, on OS servers. The grids are huge, the driving sometimes woeful, the lag only just tolerable. I really miss a local server :(
I tried iRacing, and it feels great, but I'm not going to fork out the $$$ for something I can't commit half of my life to.
I read a bit here that rFactor/historx is a step up from GTL. You old GTLers obviously like it, yeah?
I might try the demo... I assume the mod works OK with the demo.
How many racers do you get in your races?

Hi wally, i will let the other guys (ex-gtl) tell you what to expect from HistorX, atm we are getting 20 odd per race which is pretty good being the end of the season. The racing has been a blast and the league as a group are having a ball. Yes you can try the HistorX with the demo. Dont forget the HistorX patch aswell and just remember finding the right FFB settings is the key to this game but im sure the ex-gtl guys will be able to help you there.
cheers

I too was getting a bit sick of the lag on the Euro servers, but now they are starting a GTR Evo League here with good quality drivers

They run Monday nights, but I can also thoroughly recommend the Wed night racing here, top quality drivers, no tantrums or dummy spits and fantastic, well organised racing with a brilliant mod.

Hi Wally,
This is so much better than GTL and Power & Glory. Very immersive, and the racing and the racers, have been outstanding.
I was very anti rFactor as it never felt conected in the past, it always felt wrong! HistoriX is brilliant, a couple of bugs here and there but it will be fixed shortly with an update and a ton of new cars :bounce:
Get on to the rest of the old GTL guys we used to race and get them over here...

Thanks guys, I'll give the demo a go.
I'm hoping a GTR Evo/Race07/STCC league can get off the ground too.

Are there any recommended/essential mods to go with Historx (like this "real feel" I've read about)?
Yes, I'm a total rfactor noob.

Welcome back Wally! If you enjoyed your time with GTL I reckon you willget a kick out of the Historix Mod in Rfactor. The mod comes with realfeel installed and if you can grab their manual (check it out here:http://historicgt.8.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=919) and have a read through that, it will give you good step by step instructions on how to set it up. I haven't really changed much from the default real feel settings but with shortcut keys etc you can change settings on track to get the right 'feel' for you.
Hope we can see you on track soon! :thumb:

G'day 9metal. What a reunion lol. Yes, some of the best races I ever had where in the old GTL leagues. These days, I only do the one race a week too, but it's still fun.
Try eating more strawberries... full of vitamin C, I hear.
