Wicked
Tight start to the first race, being mid field in a sea of Jag bums felt worse than going to a rave full of fat chicks.
I managed to pick up a few spots and cruzed for a little bit, had an awesome dice with Will, Great racing
Race two, a clear(er) road in front, settled for 6th then people started dropping from blow ups or driver error, Scored 4th for a long time till I stuffed it into the hairpin where Imp was waiting to pounce, after I regatherd the car I found 7th till the flag
Great racing guys, well done RPO

Race 1 started quite well apart from the knocking Acerlite off the road and making him spin, i did wait for you to go ahead and well done to recover to 5th place. Lap 3 on the right hander after the bridge i somehow managed to understeer to the marshalling point and write the car off, was hella pissed off.
Race 2 well a good start, pretty clean racing, tried not to hit anyone though i did cut a person or two off and for that I am sorry. Managed to get to 8th when i stuffed up bad and ran wide coming to the bridge. I decided to go right instead of hit the bridge and broke the front bar. Wasn't too bad and drove nearly the same, but I managed to slip to guess what place.... 11th again. finished in 11th and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling to actually finish and not too badly.
Thanks all and congrats to RPO for the win.

Super tight finish to the championship with RPO taking out 1st yaaaaay and Grant (Gwyar) taking out second Yaaay, 3 rd place i have to do a recount on as it is just to close (1point) seperating myslef and Humper.
Tonights race i found some rythem in the last few mins of quali and bagged 4th on the grid, in the race i moved straight into 2nd and followed jeff around, to my surprise i was faster than him in some sections, Hes was faster than me in others, was a great battle and i really enjoyed it. RPO came in on the hair pin and then crashed later at the dreaded bridge, i overtook jeff and had the lead for awhile. Jeff blew his motor so i then went to watch my temps straight away. BJ was working up behind me, he made slight mistake in overbraking so that gave me a little breathing space, i thought because he was much quicker that if he got past i wouldnt be to fussed as i was mainly watching oil temp. came home second.
Second race i was cruising in third and my computer froze lol (first time) but whatever. :Virus:
Thanks for the Season guys it has been much fun racing against you all. See you all for Season 3 and dont forget the wind down races leading into christmas.

Great racing guys,
I love this track and was very happy with Jeff's setup, want a job as my spanner man Jeff?
I qualified with one of my best laps, so all was looking good for the race.
Sitting on the start grid, where is the start lights? Oh NOOO :fear: Slammed her into gear and side-stepped the clutch when i saw the first hint of movement.... to late 4th by turn 1 DAMN.....
Tucked in and got to work trying to catch back up to Jeff, i was anticipating a great race. After a couple of laps i caught up to Jeff and Glen and found myself out braking them both at the hair pin to get the lead... It was a little tight squeezing through, but all safe :bounce: I tried to concentrate and build a gap, i was slowly making a break, when i locked the front left turning under the bridge and OHHH Noooo... :fear: i was heading right for that brick upright!! Luckily i was able to steer the jag behind the bridge and get safely back on the track in 8th or 9th....
Finally caught Humper with a couple of laps to go, this was the battle for 3rd, got a run on him down the straight and got him into turn 1, always a little hairy commiting to a move at those speeds, but thanks Simon, you gave me room :Banane31: Finished 3rd which was very lucky considering where i left the track.
Race 2 i got a great start and tried to drive away and create a little buffer. I had a couple of second gap on Jeff, Glen and BJ, so i tried to settle down, keep the car straight (as if that was going to happen!!) and just maintain the gap. Something must have happened as next thing i know BJ is 2 seconds behind me then a big gap back to 3rd. BJ was pushing hard and kept chipping away , the time was coming down, he was gaining on me. He finally got me by overtaking me under brakes and driving the long way around me at the hairpin, great move BJ, i made sure i gave you room. Then under the bridge BJ has a moment and comes off, i'm back into 1st..:bananapartyhat: Not for long, he had more speed than me and got me again.
I got a run on him down the back straight and got caught out. I was trying to keep as close as possible, and due to his stunning outbraking move a couple of laps before i was sure he wouldn't brake until the side road, unfortunately for us both, he braked earlier and caught me un awares, i locked up the front and threw the car sideways, trying not to hit him :fear:I managed to do a jeff and get some air at the berm on the inside of the hairpin, but ended up landing in front of BJ, sorry mate, it was a wild ride....
I settled for second, there was no way i could match BJ so i buttoned off a little and made it to the finish line for 2nd.
I would like to thank everone who participated in this season, and especially Bruce and Glen for the hard work they put in so we can all race, well done guys.
I'm so glad you cajoled me to join Bruce, this sim is fantastic, can't wait until next season.
To Glen and Jeff, i have especially enjoyed driving on track with both of you, i'm having a ball, and only expect things to get even better.
To everyone else, well done everyone on a clean FUN seaon of racing, here is to next season :bananapartyhat:

Well Done Rpo,great racing.(thinking about tying rope to Rpo`s car and letting him tow me around for next season,LOL)
I hope i haven`t hit anybody or caused them any grief.Apologies to Dm,had trouble with the daytona.
My first season was ok,finished 15th with a top 10 finish.Speed was down on the top guys, just can`t drive as fast.Hopefully with a bit more experience i can improve on this year and do better.
Flattop, was only joking about bridge.Came really close to taking it on myself a few times.

Welldone to Admins on a fantastic formula for season 2, i'm thankful that you let me join in halfway through the season, I had great fun and if i can find a pardner i will be there for season three, WD to all the season place getters and last nights podium finishers.
Had a great time last night in the fezza, was really chucking it about and having some good tussles with people has i was trying to come back through the field after a mistake exiting turn 2 on lap 1, TOO MUCH WELLIE then the engine blew with 1 to go, i was pushing hard to make up some places.
Was very nervious at the start of race 2 with a very crowded grid and being surrounded by Jags the Fezza's brakes taking at least a lap to start working, and yes the dreaded happened i just could stop aswell as the Jag in front and i just tapped him sending him spinning off into the country side, I waited to redress but unfortunately we were both well behind by this stage so please accept my appologises, anyway had a fun time coming back through the field AGAIN and had the Fezza flying great fun
Thanks guys

Firstly, thankyou to Glen, =UGN= XGN, contributors, admins and all the racers, I had a ball again this season. This has been a season of fun competitive racing, I can't remember a season that has been so 'hassle' free, all having a common goal, to enjoy our sim racing, thankyou again.
Secondly, my apologies to Dino, sorry I panicked heading into the bridge, irrationally braked, you had no where to go...
Race one, i drove where i looked! Hit the bridge after picking up so many places, after avoiding damage and picking up so many places, only to find my nemesis again!
I was surprised to find that I hadn't blown a tyre and set off adapting to the new setup and having a few good dices.
Race 2. After destroying Dino's race settled into attempting to catch Cerebus, but could only pull it down to 10secs with enticing glimpses of your tag.
Congratulations to RPO, GWYAR and Glen. Certainly at tight fight for 3rd!
I still find it hard to believe that old bloke, Flattop got a top 10 finish! KOWABUNGA!
Looking forward to season 3, hoping you all will back, I'll be practising in the "Kubic Cortina", look out for Cerebus and Flattop, ahead up the track!

Well first race back here since the porsche series and I had a ball, Jeff sent me a setup on the night and considering I'd never raced the Historix before I didn't do to bad.
race 1, quallied 6th lined up and suddenly realised I'd not even done a race start so after feverishly looking start lights I spotted the ol' GPL flaggie on the hill and hope to christ he was the one I had to look at! Got up to 4th on the first lap but it all turned to custard on the second when I dropped a rear wheel off etering the back straight and went gardening:ohwell: I gathered it back up thinking I'd only dropped a place or two until I re entered the track and realised it had put me a lap down? WTF??? so I battled on to finish 10th.
race 2, got away reasonably well, left room for Speedie charging up the inside and then settled in for the race, got as high as 3rd till I looped it coming onto the front straight, Jeff (cheeky bastage) honked on the way past but I had the last laugh half a lap later when his Jag was parked on the infield with a fubar engine:) managed to salvage 4th by the end.
Great fun, thanx to all involved and see you at the next one.
cheers, Johnno

just a quick one guys.... did anyone notice my "ping" last night? was it acceptable? I didn't see any warping and the connection is good enough for iRacing on the US servers, but I dont want to ruin anyones racing.
its just that I'm on wireless from out here in the middle of the Western Australin desert.

Awesome night..........probably still on high from 2 from 2 :)
Awesome series Glen, FT and all invovled, shame i wasn't able to be more consistent in appearence, next time.
Thanks Jeff for the setup, qualifying left me scratching my head as I was a good 1.5 secs off the pace and no idea where i was losing it............just subscribed to the "pick it up as i go along" theory...............and it worked a treat.
Race 1 was a ripper, dropped from P3 on grid to P13 by Turn 2 lol.........and then an awesome run back through the field to snatch the win.
Race 2, I sort of guessed I had the measure, so just tried to maintain that same consistent lap speed from Race 1 and it worked again :D
see you all soon on track...........

mate i think your cortina's skins are awesome, if we were racing cortina's i would pick one of your skins, im having a lot of trouble trying to paint the alfa as i think the body's just dont flow or.....i dont get inspired by the alfa body. Any chance if you have the time to do a BRE racing colour alfa. Bre racing colours are from the Datsun racing colours, i can get you some pictures if you like.

Great job Jeff,
Thanks for an excellent series of racing and practice.
Great job on the skin, i can see i'm going to have to pull my finger out and drive both the tina and alfa so i can decide what i'll use next year, hopefully that design will transfer across to the alfa easily....
The radiator settings thing is interesting, mine was on 3 but i was shifting between the shift light on the dash and the tacho gear indicator changing colour. It must be temp related though, during practice this week i was slamming the gear box from 4th to 2nd at the hairpin to test how durable the engine was and i couldn't blow it up, it was screaming in 2nd but no smoke no problems. Very strange... Did you watch your temps? i wonder if this is another bug?
SpeedFreak
27-11-2008, 03:57 PM
1st to glen ...see what i can do if ya have some more pictures that wood be good
2nd Rpo yer i was watching my temp and the bloody thing didnt go over 85 in oil and water so its a strange 1 and i wasnt redlining it either ... like u i tested 4 the same thing and had no prob's in practice's
May b some 1 stuck a potato up the exhaust while i was in the pits .... 1 off the sneakie Ferrari drivers no less :ohwell:
Also maybe run Cortina's and Alfa's next week to see what there like .... ie - speed difference and the likes
May be at Lakeside Raceway ...that way people will now what they want 2 drive next series

Firstly thank you to Glen & Flattop for the series, and to the experienced drivers who really went out of their way to help us newbies, RPO was very helpfull to me over the season, thanks mate. I think the most impressive thing was the help and the warm welcome when i joined up, and the understanding shown when brain fade kicked in and I ruined a faster guys lap or race. Unfortunately i was unable to race last night but it sounds like a good time was had by all. Congrats to the season winners RPO and

Congrats to the winners of Season 2! I would've liked to have joined you guys for the final few races but it was clashing with an NAGT league I race. Bring on S3 as I can't wait to get stuck in with you guys and burn some rubber. I've been testing the Alfa, what a beauty! Love how it lifts the inside wheel off the ground on most corners lol.
Congrats again to the winners and everyone that makes this place a great place to be & race :)

Congratz to Rpo for winning the championship, Well done to the race winner last night. I was intending to race last night but due to being massively sleep deprevated i thought it would be best to sit it out. Season 2 was full of fun and being my 1st completed season i think i did ok i placed Overal 8th. Had some really got dicing with flattop and a couple of others in various races. Well done to the rookie championship winner.

I got up behind you and noticed you had Mrs Daisy in the back...kidding mate ...sorry Ash. My plan was to concentrate and drive with nice clean lines. I am in Warrnabool for the week and I set myself up for a good nights racing last night with 6 seconds to the race a work collegue knocked on my door for a chat. I ran back to my lap top to race and chat with him at the same time. This was a disaster for my driving braking late and going wide on corners. Did'nt know about the rules on redress but will remember for S3.

Sorry for the late reply but here goes..
Well, I had a fun night last night and have made a decision regarding racing here in the future, which is that I'm going to Give up the Monday night league I've been racing in, as it has been taking my concentration away from this league too much, and after last night I realised I really like racing cars with sloppy suspension, bad brakes, and other nasty old car handling traits.
The monday league is NAGT, and I'm completely useless at it, last 2 races was up to 5 secs off the pace, came in practically last, I have no idea how the other Guys get the cars to turn in so easily or brake so late, as I cannot replicate it at all, even their setups don't help at all.
It has taken my fun out of league racing, so the best thing is to knock it on the head :laser: and put the amount of effort in here that I used to.
Other reasons I have been a bit absent is Computer probs the last 2 weeks, all sorted now so no excuse from now on.
1st race hadn't practised at all so blowing the engine after about 4 laps wasn't a surprise.
2nd race upped radiator and brake duct to max (just to be sure). Started 14th and made it up to 5th by the end, had some really good tussles throughout and a lot of fun with the e-type.
I did notice at one point Glen73 appearing in front of me near midfield, maybe that was just before Your comp carked it, If I had any lag issues please let me know?

Congrats to BJSracer for taking out both races mate, big effort it looks like. Bit of a shame you missed a few races, seems as though you would have kept the championship winner on his toes!
I had a couple of shocker races but only by my own doing. I don't reckon I qualified as well as I could have but I was pretty happy with 7th all the same. Don't worry about the contact Sco, I figure it's all just a part of close racing and you just get back on track and into it again . I don't reckon I did too badly though, fighting my way back up the field to 6th in the end. I even wiped out early in the piece! Had some good tussles with J Alesi, Sprinterboy and others, I tried to fight for position cleanly but my apologies if I messed up. Bad luck in with the engine letting go Bodie, you had the car hooting!
The second race should have been a cracker but either the 2nd or 3rd corner in my steering wheel went weird on me! Basically I was holding the wheel straight but the game was being told it was turned right and got off track. I tried to stay out of the way but I shot out on track while working out the steering so i'm mega sorry to those I got in the way of. I don't think I hit anyone though luckily. Reckon it might be time for a new wheel, perhaps the FFB motor is shot? After that I got the wheel doing the right thing again and I just hunted after whatever I could salvage. I was way too far back to be in contention for anything so I had a bit of a bugger around on the last lap which I think I let Cerebus through :D. Great race though still, had heaps of fun :thumb:
Congratulations to Rpo for taking the season win with most race wins and top 5 finishes you obviously are one consistent driver! Well done to GWYAR and Glen for rounding out the top three, bloody close for 3rd though with humper just missing out by 1 point! Same said for Sco_Aus and Sprinterboy in the rookie champ, played it close right to end! At the end of the day though, it's a big effort to everyone who races and makes these as fun, and intense, each and every night. Not since the GTL league have I seen so many like-minded folks enjoy competing while still ensuring everyone else has a good race. Lots of respect on and off the track :peace:
Lastly (yeah, my post is too long :P) big thanks to Glen, Flattop, admins, XGN and anyone else who puts their time into running this league. :clap2:

Sorry for my late response too, but been very busy too.
Firstly thanks to Glen and flattop for running this League. I run in 3 other Leagues too, and this is by far my favorite.
After Glens bad luck in the last round found myself in 2nd on the ladder so decided to go into conservative mode (not that I had a choice,I dont have an attack mode) and figured that if Glen didnt beat me by too many positions I might just sneak in. Even went to the Ferrari in practise as I couldnt seem to get a handle on the Jag, even with all the setups sent, but thought it was a bit too slow, only to be out qualified by Bodie.
Anyway early in the 1st race saw a car disappear over the bank, and couldnt see Glens name on the tags ahead of me so thought it was him :bananapartyhat: Got a shock at the end to see he had finished 2nd. Had a good dice with humper again and nearly spun in front of him again at the hairpin as I selected 1st gear a bit early.Came in 5th so it looked like going down to the wire with Glens 2nd place.
2nd race: Had good races with humper and John Akers, and was very lucky not to collect John when he spun on the start/finish straight. Just watched the replay and missed by inches. With Glens disco ended up 3rd and very happy with that.
WD rpo on a resoundind win,and commiserations to Glen, with his bad luck late in the season.
Going to miss the next 6 weeks racing as I'm off on holidays to Thailand for the next 5 weeks, IF I can get into the country.Thats what I've been busy doing since the race, trying to sort out alternative plans if the airport is still closed next Tuesday.Might have to go via Phuket or Phnom Penh and bus it to Bangkok.
So thanks for a great Season2,Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all, and see you next year
btw, I,m not in any team yet,so if anyone wants a Teamy,I'm available
