So the server is setup for cortys vs the Romeo's :D
So far with a setup found by acer, 2.03.2 with plenty of room to improve. should be 2min flat by race night :D

Had a little play tonight, drove both cars, trying to figure out what to drive...
The alfa sounds great but has a strange front end, best i did was a 2:00.3
Acer was punting his cortina around very nicely, so i ducked out and jumped in one of those. Acer kindly lent me his setup, much nicer to drive, slower top speed, and it sounds like a bucket of bolts.... (I hope most of season 3 races will be sprints, cuz the corty doesn't sound like it will finish more than a few laps). Although it sounds like it will explode at any moment it is really nice to drive, did a best of a 1:59.6 from memory....
Looks like it is going to be a great season, Glen and i did a few laps dicing with each other, the cars are very forgiving, and it seems you have a choice of about 100 different lines into corners, should make for fun racing.

That's what I love about the slower cars, easier to get used to and it makes (or should make) for closer racing. Not that the Alfa or the Tina aren't a bundle of fun to drive though, specially the sideways action in the Cort :thumb:.
Glad I could help with a set guys, would have to be a first for me since I am the setup dunce. Thankfully some nice bloke at rfcentral posted up some better base sets and they seem to work well. It honestly made the Cortina a nicer and faster car though. On defaults I was busting ass trying to get down to a high 2:01 but with the set I managed a low 2:00 pretty easily and could do similar times more consistently. Great time there Rpo! Little wonder you are the Season 2 champ!

Hey Acer, dont suppose you could put up a link to that setup or the setup you were using last night :)This is a setup pack that i use has setups 4 most off the cars ...the only thing i change on them is the rear toe as he must like 2 slide alot
Just upack it and put it in any 1 off ya tracks then go to that track folder in garage when u need it ... if ya click on vechile in garage it will only show the setup 4 the car u are driving ..if its on All Vechile it will show all the setups

For those that dont know were 2 put these open up
Rfactor - UserData folder - folder with your race name ie: Jeff_H - Settings folder - now open any track and paste them in it ... just remember which track u put it in
i have mine in Amoroo track folder so when i need 1 i just got 2 it when im racing

For sure BJ,
I think i have to thank both yourself and progers for not turning up ofter :)
Also the computer gods and work gods smiled on me, i need all the help i can get......
The way the points are structured, one or two problems puts an end to your season. The point system definately rewards consistency over speed.

I think thats the way the points were decided, no mad overtaking moves etc instead keeping it fast, plain and simple will get the No.1 spot.

Didn't think you did BJ,
all cool, no offence or anything like that taken.
You and prodgers are in a class of your own :alien:
Just like in the last 2 GTL seasons, no one could touch speed. The cool thing about having someone faster than you is there are no excuses, you just have to try and learn from them. I couldn't believe how straight you drive the car, i don't have the mental ability to do that, big drifts are too much fun.... However if you enter more races next season it may have a sub conscious effect on me to try harder..... i doubt it though, these cars are to much fun to drive.
See you on the track :fencing::Banane35:

I have been doing a bit of practice at PI, I have to say, I am considering going the other way and driving the Alfa, it might not be as quick (although I was doing similar times in both cars), but its so much more fun to drive.

Thats good, i think the Alfa is actually a quicker car to drive.

just did some testing, 59.9 after a few laps but i think i can get more if i get some better lines going.

Can't wait for next season.
A few of us were cutting laps last night, some of the closest car to car racing i have ever done. :bananapartyhat::bananapartyhat:
Glen Jeff and myself had a ball cutting each other up, slipstreaming and generally just racing hard. The combination of the track and car simply just worked.
Has a decision been made for Wednesday night? Originally it was posted as a Porsche race, should it be the first outing of the new skin pack instead??

In reverse:
Cortina & Alfa (http://www.xgn.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=580),
as to the use of your new skins, we need to confirm with Glen, re: timing for everyone. (I for one would like to sport the #13 out there)
I have found, my setup for the cortina is really suits my short course windy track style (street circuit), I just can't get it right on the longer faster track, will have a look for the link I spotted earlier.
The close matching of the cars in each race should be the formula for fun, it certainly appears to be from your post Steve. The other advantage, each race doesn't mean a steep learning curve, and should allow for everyone to have some good usable setups.

Hi Bruce,
I'm sure setups will be clogging everyones received folders on Wednesday night, i just did my usual, front toe out and a little more caster/camber.
I was struggling with gearing last night, i would have a run on Glen out of the last turn, and onto the straight but i couldn't overtake him :frusty::frusty:
I then remembered radiator settings, i checked with the other guys they were using setting 1, so off for a pitstop and a little tweak. Much better!
Time will tell if it will be OK in the race.
The closer we all are the better :Banane31::Banane31:

yep we can run the skin pack, if to many peeps turn up with out the skin back we can just duck out and choose a stock cortina/alfa. Wont be to hard. Also it is a small DL 19 meg so it would onlytake 2 min to install if you dont have it.

well, I made it down into the 2min flat mark. I'll be running 2-3 radiator as I did a 8 Laps on 1 and it gets hot. And thats without following and dicing with others.

It might be quicker, but that setup Acer found makes the cortys a dream to drive. and I CBF doing R&D on the Alfa... :D

Hey Sprinterboy, thanks for passing on the setup last night, changed the car completely, in the only 2 laps I did after the changes, I picked up a second a lap each time, and that is with an "opps" on each lap, hope to be on the flat 2:00s on the night.

No worries, I've got a feeling it'll be my 'base' setup for every track and just tweek it to suit.
