While I was playing around trying to resolve some stuttering issues I had in rfactor (turned out to be a driver issue and going back to an older version fixed it) I found some interesting results with different settings in the nvidia control panel
With rfactor you can turn all your graphics to max and it's pretty good, but does still have some jaggies going on
Here's an example of rfactor on my system with everything maxed. These screenies are taken with fraps, my system is running Win7 64 bit with a GTX275 and nvidia drivers release 197.45
Unfortunately the screenies don't show at the correct resolution so you don't get a full idea of how much difference there is.. and there is a big difference for the bottom one!
The first screeniw is the main settings maxed in rfactor, and default nvidia driver settings. You can see some pretty bad jagged lines around the windows, the rear bumber, even on the fence & guard-rails
3673
The next one is after adjusting some settings in the nvidia driver including the antiualiasing mode to "enhance" .. as you can see.. not really much difference :ohwell:
3670
Now look what happens if you set antialiasing mode to "override"... very much reduced jagged lines everywhere.. on the fence, guardrail and particularly noticable around the cars windows. I dunno why "enhance" doesn't seem to work.. but certainly override does and no prizes for guessing which way I have mine set :)
3671
Obviously better graphics = more power needed, but if youre system can handle it, it looks much cleaner :)
I assume there's a similar setting in ATI...
EDIT: here's my rf-config settings
