well was everbody happy with the reverse top 6? should it be more or less?

Racing these cars is a blast. Dare i say it, drafting is a massive thing with these cars. Tonight was intense racing right behind RPO for most of the race. I liked the reverse top 6 and am happy to do it again if you all want to.

Thanks for the awesome racing tonight i love ya's all :Banane31:

How about a complete reverse grid ??, now that will make for some interesting nights.

It was SO good to have some nice close lag free racing again. I did see some cars jumping sideways across the track at the start, is that normal? It seemed to settle down after the start.

I had a great battle with Willie on his bumper, getting side by side for a bit... top stuff.

In the WTCC races we do, we have a reverse top 8 (in a grid of 20-ish). It does mix things up in race 2, not to mention the immense pressure it puts on the poor guy who gets pole in race 2 (been there, done that), so I reckon it's a good idea.

That would probably cause too much carnage, I reckon. There's a big difference from last to 1st; not such a big difference between 6th and 1st.

Had a ball tonight,

Well done everyone, race 1 was kind of boring, don't know why i gaped everyone....

Race 2 was great, the reverse grid made things interesting, and i couldn't believe how tight the racing was. I spent most of my race driving down the inside of the track, trying to cover my lines from Glen, i should have been more aggressive and used rad1 setting!!

Well done on the deserved win Glen, it seemed it was only a matter of time from my perspective.

Nice to dice with you to BJ, you didn't do your usual trick and disappear off into the distance. I thought you had me on the last turn i stuffed my entry up and changed into 4th to early :fear:

I'm not fussed either way on the reverse grid, what ever you guys want, i'm happy with:bananapartyhat:

If this is anything to go by season 3 is going to be MAD :Banane20:

My run of Problems continued tonight, 1st of all Storms in Brissy forced me to unplug everything in the house, especially computer, and by the time I got in I realised I didn't have the track, barely got in and also didn't have skin-pack, both the last 2 are my fault completely.
2nd race again my fault partly as computer crashed right on the start grid, when You see what I have done to my computer lately You'll see why it crashed.

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=280256

The reason it is only partly my fault is that I am almost 100% certain that my power supply can't supply enough juice to run it.
If I underclock the processor, it has no problems and boots ok everytime, and get worse the faster I push it.

Back to the car racing, I will likely have a new PSU by next week that can handle the load, so should be back as usual.

Why don't we try out the 100% reverse grid on race 2 at Surfers? Its not a points race and its the minis so it would still be a bit of fun.
Any who. Had a great time last night. I recently purchased a FFB Wingman. Its not as good as i would have liked and i'm not really any faster, but I am definately much more consistent with i think a top 10 result race 1 and 8th race 2.
Race 1 was close, but pretty uneventfull except when I turned in and knocked vspec32 off the track and waited around to redress sitting in last for quite a while.
Race 2 however, Justin showed me his "softer" side and tried to make love to me through corner 1 pushing me straight into the crowd and causing a mass pile up and twice more later in the race, he did redress each time he hit me, also had some great racing with DaveG/DaveO.

Oh WOW!!! That was awesome, Sco_Aus and I went at it in race 1 just couldn't catch Scott, what a ball, finished 9th.

Race 2 not sure what happened copped a huge shunt in the side of the start and slammed into the pit wall damaged front suspension, race over, so I watched Glen, RPO and BJS go at it, this was nearly as good as driving, I couldn't believe how close they were for 12 laps and without paint swapping
just amazing to watch you guys go at it, The 1:1 V8 Supercar guys could learn something from watching this.
The footage should go on you tube to let people see how good this sim racing can be.

Thanks all for a great night

Race 2 not sure what happened copped a huge shunt in the side of the start and slammed into the pit wall

Think I was involved here (not the cause) some jostling at the start had me shooting around like a ping pong ball. Not quite sure how it started or who I bounced off.

Race 1 was just the little bit too far behind BJ and Jeff to do any drafting and took the easy 3rd when they came together. Then drove round by myself for a while till toward the end when Wally starts pulling me in. Wow Wally was on fire in the closing stages. Then I realised I was outa fuel. She stopped just coming into pitlane.

Race 2 Started "as above" and spent most of the race dicin with someone which was much better. So although I reverse grided myself I think it is the go.

Well I had a ball last night, race one certainly the main attraction for me.
One both occassions I was caught out by the start, even watching the count down, sorry for any one behind.
Race one: It was realy impressive being part of such a big 'train' of cars that remained in contact for so much of the race.
In the first few laps I found myself forgetting to breath I was concntrating so hard and enjoying close racing.
I changed my mantra from "apex, apex" to "apex, breathe, apex..." towards the last laps started coasting in high gears through turns etc as the fuel warning light came on early but still spluttered to a stop 50 yards short of the finish.
Race 2 I had some luck (bad) when I tangled in the lap one tango but go going and settled into tring to keep away from the rejoiners tracking me down, had some more luck (good),when Sprinterboy and ? had difficulty and I was able to get up the inside of Sprinter and hold him off for a lap, after that I was exhausted and started making sill mistakes and got home without running out of fuel.
I replayed the first few laps of race one once i exited and had the pleasure of watching in third person the fun and the exciting looking field...
Pleased to see Wally running so well on his return to XGN and to see new members Vspec also getting in doing well.
Thanks for the fun.
Reverse order, well it is a non-points fun night, why not the whole field reversed (unless this is an admin nightmare) and have the same race handicapped (-:
Group one (1-10) off on start, the rest have to count to.. 5 (seconds that is), make the scratch markers work a little harder

I forgot to mention that I was treated to the impressive spectacle of sprinterboy's (I think) car bursting into flames in front of me on the track. Nice one.

And at the start, I was watching the red lights and wondering why everyone was taking off while the lights were still red. Then I realised I was watching the pit exit lights... lol. :der:

Thanks Guys,

I was obviously in the zone for race 1 :bananapartyhat:

Don't know what happened in race 2, i didn't even get into the 58's once, too much defensive driving, me thinks :fear:

Can't wait to watch the replay tonight :bananapartyhat:

I think we have to keep track of which tracks and car combinations provide this level of excitement. We could then think about a GOAT(Greatest Of All Time) series, we might just have to coach Bruce to make sure he breathes!!

Race 1 was a write off for me as far as challenging you 2 RP and Glen, once i redressed for Jeff. But Race 2 was great close racing for 12 laps. I was very generous with my line I think in a number of instances when we came to back markers :) , but I would have been hard pressed to keep you behind had i stuck it in front........... u and glen definately had the pace in section 2.

Reversing the top 6 was a great idea, I wish I could always start from pole. lol

Great racing guys that was the closest racing I have done good fun.

First race had a good battle with flattop then saw a car on fire that was about it

Second race started from pole, then going into the second corner was 4th, I wish you guys let be in the lead for at least half a lap lol

Was happy with 5th, S3 should be very close racing. Was a good idea to keep the same car for the whole season. Ash and I are already planing tatics to combat Sulio crazy driving!! lol

Well what a buzz that was last night 2 see all the cars i painted on track with others driving them ...Fantastic

Well race 1
Got a great start to beat glen off the line and into 2nd ...only 4 a couple off thou once Glen got throu had Bj wanting my spot but wasnt going to give it 2 him to easy after swaping postions 4 a couple off laps we had a little rub coming out off turn 4 which sent me off track and into the wall .. no ones fault really just happens sometimes ....finished 12th :ohwell:

Race 2

Got a blinder off a start up into 5 buy 1st corner from 12th ..had a battle 4 a couple off laps trying 2 pass J Alise and could see Rpo Glen & BJ pulling away so had to get past J.A made a small mistake and throu i go, now after the 3 in front got the gap down to 2 sec's ....but by lap 9 tyres were screaming enuff so had to settle 4 4th spot

All in all a great nights racen some off the closes racen ive had ina long while

Just watched some of the replays.... :bananapartyhat::bananapartyhat::bananapartyhat:

First i want to apologise to Glen for cutting him off down Gardiner straight lap 8 of race 2. I was preoccupied with trying to figure out where vspec was going. :fear: I didn't see you up my inside, (i must have been checking my hair in the mirror:mullet::mmph:) and i forced you on to the dirt. It looks like it got interesting there with BJ as well..

These replays are a work of art, how good do the effects look, dust and smoke particles, i enjoyed watching my car oscillate through the corners, looks like i needed more compression damping :bounce:

I didn't even realise there was so much carnage at turn 1 in race 1 WOW.

Again great racing all, lets hope Surfers Paradise is as good.

watched our the replays too, and wow what a h00t alright! :Banane09:

our coming together was the software Jeff, wouldn't have happened in RL

and lol at the beeping, didn't realise u had that skin picked humper, changed to what i thought was an avail skin with about 5 min to go and never saw the field again till I got the beeping and lights flashing signal on the start line :)

No worries RPO, i was surprised to see that in the replay :)

Have to give credit to BJ as sometimes you were carrying more speed but didnt try and force your way pass. A good viewing non the less and probably the most entertaining 1-2-3 i have seen in a long time without the swapping of positions.
