I am trying each of the TC-65 cars out to see how much of a performance difference there is between them. It's been quite an eye opener how differently these cars are in Historix to their GTL fathers. So far I have found the Lotus Cortina and the Alfa Romeo GTA to be close performance-wise just like in GTL, although I imagine the GTA will probably have the edge due to the 5 speed gearbox (again just like GTL).

The Falcon seems to have taken a fall during the process as I find it quite 'boat like' with the handling very much like the MkII Jag :darn:. The Falcon in GTL was a very fast car for the class, keeping up with the GTA on all but the tightest of tracks. But now it seems to be hard to pull up and difficult to change direction in comparison. It's not impossible though and thankfully it's still as fun getting it sideways, if not more so now.:D

The biggest difference I have found so far is the 65 Mustang. This thing is a freakin' bullet now! Easily powers on past the rest of the class and even pulls up and turns in well (provided you don't try and outbrake a Cortina ;)). The Stang in GTL wasn't as fast as the Falcon and certainly not a shade on the Cortina or GTA, but the tables have turned in Historix

Have you guys come across any other similar experiences from the changeover?

I agree about the mustang, it out performs the rest of the field easily. The JagMkII is a bit of a pig on default but you even noticed the difference once we dropped the ARB by one it turned in a lot better. I only raced in the first 2seasons of GTL and cant quite remember every car in detail. Im sure the more regular guys in GTL will be able to make some better comparisons than myself :)

Had a few laps on a public server last night. Grabbed the mini, default setup.
I couldn't touch the falcons and the Alphas, not the minis fault I'm sure.
Had some good battles with the other mini. But what I do like is the sliding of the mini and the predicatiblity of the handling. I also noted the Falcons wer power sliding smoothly and predicatibly without the sudden "grippyness" of GTL.
(I did attempt to change the FFB in game, but went from hard over centering steering to wishy washy no feel. Will get some time to take you up on your offer soon Glen).

ps I just love the techinical terms from a motor mech!

I love the interface, fun and different, espesh with the little snippets from real racing as you mouse over. It is just taking some time to find my way around it.

I have found I enjoy the Mini in Historix so much more than I did with GTL. It's really a car you can chuck around wildly and still come out ok (probably). Seems to be a bit quicker than the old one too but I could be just slow in the other cars. The Falcon is oodles of fun but if you want to go fast you gotta be patient with the gas pedal. So far it seems that the Mustangs and Alfas rule in the TC 65s but the Cortina and Falc aren't far behind.

I really enjoy the interface too, it's a shame there are so many who are against it as it captures the mood of the mod perfectly and is a fantastic change to the usual clinical interface rFactor comes with. Purists might shun it but I don't think it's worth writing off the mod for (especially when you can mod the interface to something you like anyway).
