Why do I ask? There will be a few weeks between seassons/unplanned days etc, and Race07 does have an interesting "Retro-Cool" and "Retro-Max" release for $AU9.


A couple of pressure free races. (hehe is that possible?)
Mixed classes
Hill Climb (hmmm who would want that?), with timed interval departure
Old or New tracks...

We can start with the Retro pack, those that want to purchase and join could balance out buying the Injection pack for $30. Those who only have the retro can make that choice later, along with others, if there is enough support. IMHO

Thats correct, It is cheaper to buy race injection (as this includes race 07) than buying all the expansions but, what Bruce is proposing is (retro add-on) you can get on the server either buying race07 + Injection or buying race07 + retro. either either I already had most of the add-ons so it would have been pointless for me to buy the injection pack. I like the games simplicity of jump in and drive.

Race Injection is a great way to go if you either have race07 with no add-ons or you don't have it at all.

Ok installed everything ... carnt get the game to run on full screen for some reason and when ya running a 42" screen is quite annoying all i get is a picture of about the size off a lap top screen

it was very good as most had pings from 34 -256 with a field of 25 at one point.
the warping that did occur at times was small enough not to interfere...

I think the ballast-method is excellent in compensating for bigger fields. If we could get 10+ people on the grid every week, it'd be awesome.

New Year's Resolution: get a full grid in NKP! I think the record was 11...

Think the problem is not NKP, but the lack of nights we can spend racing.
Maybe if we alternated Wed nights NKP/rFactor/Race07/iRacing
Thats my reason anyway, others may see it different
Bear in mind I race in another League on Sunday and sometimes Monday nights

Yeah, and that's fair enough too. People can race what they like. The only problem is that it fragments the community, especially in a small market like Australia. Maybe it would be good to only race on Wed and alternate the sim, so that we get everyone racing NKP, then rFactor etc. That has pros and cons - we'd get more numbers, but you'd be racing sims that might not be your first preference. It depends on what matters more to people - having bigger grids, or racing your favourite sims. Personally, I think it would break up the continuity too much cycling between too many different sims.

First thought was there was some time around Xmas that would not be scheduled, Race 07 is fun and you can just drop in and drive, hence the initial posting. (Funny how what first appears like a long time looming, evaporates quickly around the busy/silly season). I was not fishing for another sim/night/league, (no pun intended in relation to the small pond, Australia).
But one thing I do know, I don't know the answer... I am certainly torn between sims/cars and only have 2 nights a week at most.
I will have to find a balance... practice/fun/availabilty... (The only thing I do not want to compromise is the community here, I run in anything rather than loose the camaraderie/pleasure I have at XGN)

Hehe all is well, I'm selfish and only run what I want.... but I don't compromise the leagues. I think people are still searching for that "new" thing. When you look at it, NKpro has mostly gained a fresh crop of members. When rfactor was in it's hey day their were 25+ fields. It's not like those 25 peeps are still racing but divided on what to race. A lot left for various reasons. Just run with what you like.

Not opening a can of worms, just opening up a discussion. Didnt seriously expect the rotation thing to happen due to the issues that Wally mentioned,but maybe there is another solution, possibly just rFactor/NKR rotate
Personally I'd love big grids every week.
Maybe when RF2 comes out it will be that good everyone will migrate to it.
Edit:Just read the Autosimsport magazine test of the RF2 beta and it certainly sounds very promising

Nar all good mate, I dont "love it" but I do like I don't have to mess around with settings etc. Just a jump in and drive. Thats it's strong point. It's a bit dull feeling but I think it is stronger in other area's that make it ok and fun. It isnt hardcore it's more entry level but still is a lot of fun and I would race it for that reason.
