In Thailand atm and yesterday got an invite to go to the Bangkok Motor Expo
The website looked good www.motorexpo.co.th, so accepted and it certainly had some pretty cool cars there. While walking around came across a Racing School stand and they had 4 PC,s hooked up using racing seats and momos and they were running a competition. Thought they were probably using Grid or NFS or similar but turned out they were running GTR2, using the Lancer EVO mod and running around Donington, so my son and I entered. Watching other races before ours thought I,d be in with a chance as with newbies everyone was crashing on every 2nd corner.Sure enough won my race with my son 2nd, and then got told I had the fastest lap time for the day up till then.
Didnt think much more about it untill on the drive home got a phone call.Turns out I had the 2nd fastest lap time for the whole 9 days of the Expo and they were inviting me back to race off in the final on the last day of the Expo, with a PS3 as the 1st prize.
Unfortunately, where I,m staying is about 3 hours drive from the Expo, so didnt really feel like making the return jouney, much to my sons disgust, as he had his eyes on that PS3. Also wondering what the respose would be if a 57 yr old foriegner (sp) had beaten all their young guns
btw, check out that website gallery, some pretty flash cars there,Ferraris,Porsches,Audi r8, some concept cars, and an awesome car audio section.

In hindsight maybe, but maybe youve never spent 6hrs in Bangkok traffic. About an hour before I got the call, spent 40 minutes without moving an inch in the traffic. And that day we had gotten a lift with some friends in their car with a/c,incar dvd, driver et all. To return would have meant a bus from the country, then a taxi from one side of Bangkok to the other to the Expo, and who knows how their finals were arranged.Could have been the top 100 for all I knew. Just happy to have gotten some withdrawl symptoms temporarily fixed
