This IS been chiselled in stone, (just marked out, ready for chiselling), but if people do turn up we will stick to a single car and have at least one race, if not 2.
This will allow a little familiarisation of the tracks and keep us off the street and on track (sorry couldn't help it).
The tracks will be picked depending on the car and on the night.
Wed 07th GTC-65 Corvettes (Wannaroo http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Wanneroo)

A couple of sprint races is what I like, also helps anyone turning up a bit late.

That was great fun last night .... until my game Frozze solid :censored::censored: thing
Was having a great battle with Brodie at the time 2 dont no how many time i nearly hit him as he was warping every now and then which was a pain .... but good fun all the same

That was an interesting race... if only to make it obvious how poorly I corner in these cars :) I had people powering past me from behind coming out of the second to last corner onto the straight. It was a good example of how taking the corner all wrong really made my exit speed suffer. I should have gone more sideways into the corner and then got the power down when the car was pointing straight to the exit. Instead, I tried to accelerate lightly through the apex and then had to be really careful about oversteer on the way out.
So, thanks for the learning experience :) I always suck when you have to drive sideways.

I wondered what happened, you appeared in front of me going down the back straight, i almost collected you :fear:
I had a little warping later on when i was gaining on Imperious and Bodie, it only happened for a couple of seconds at turn 2, weird!!
Fun race, but the grip level here is :censored: It makes for a fun night of not so serious driving :bounce:

I must admit, this would have been easier for me to drive at in a Cortina or Alfa, espeshily after 36 laps, my shoulders really felt like I had swam 1500 mtrs!
Certainly had some fun moments either on 2 wheels feeling like Evel Kenivel or watching the same, humper did a nice 100 metre stint at one point.
I cam to grief often on the last turn into the straight on the ripple strip, I either got it totally wrong or right!
It was ment to be a fun night, it was for me, even if I did forget to hit 3rd at the start in race 2, I offed the line well in 2nd, and forgot to change! I had been practising "take up large volumes of the track" between races but it was to no avail!
See you next week, some more sideways racing at the newly released Wakefield track, good test.

had some fun last night to, dont know what happened with grid edit though as i should have been last in race 2. It placed me 3rd or 4th iirc which wouldnt really be acceptable on a league night. Will test it again next week to try and iron out some bugs.
cheers guys
next week is falcs Vs stangs. Im going in a Falcon as it is much slower than the Stang :bananapartyhat:

Smashing Rollover from RPO (i think) in race 1 through the esses, it looked great from just behind him he just tagged a curb and over he went.

ahead of Racing :car:, You poor, twisted boy.
What is Windows 7 like anyway, it would want to be unbelievably better than Vista, otherwise MS is stuffed.

I nearly rammed You when I changed Gear, so had to hit the brake fast, didn't make the same mistake next lap though.
I was using the default Heel and toe setup option, which gives better acceleration due to having no gap between changing gears, it is much harder to master though, and makes for compression lockups if You downshift too early.
I had great fun last night too, the tyres seemed to go through 3 stages, up to lap 8 they were quite good, to lap 13 or so were average, and the rest became like Jelly.
Thanks RPO for being so generous last lap!!
Jeff, if You are overclocking Your PC , that might add to instability, I generally knock the overclock back on race nights. If You are not overclocking thenmaybe just bad luck.

Is that one of the options in the upgrades, do you mean? Do you remember which one that is?

Thanks RPO for being so generous last lap!!
Generosity had nothing to do with it.. :pound:
It had more to do with reduced brain capacity, and maybe a touch of :der: or :Banane35:
Either way congrats, though it sounds as though you may have suffered the same fate.............. almost

Hi Wally,
It is the last upgrade in the list, but like imperious i use heel and toe, without any clutch :fear: It makes things, er INTERESTING :bounce: as it just snaps straight into gear as if you have done a flat change, modulating your accelerator helps you not spear off into the scenery.
I can't remember the wording for the options as i use a dual boot pc for racing, but heel toe is default, or you can select clutch pedal etc.
If auto clutch is allowed, paging Glen or Bruce??? you could keep heel and toe selected and just turn on auto clutch.
Mr Fox
09-01-2009, 07:57 AM
Auto clutch is allowed.
Wally

From memory, I think I have that upgrade selected, and use auto clutch, and just flat shift. There is usually a massive dip in revs for what seems like an eternity when I shift.
I'll fiddle around with it. Not that I can heel and toe, though...
rpo83
09-01-2009, 10:35 AM
No need to heel and toe Wally, just be judicious with throttle when changing gears, 1st - 2nd is usually sketchy if you stay flat, 2nd - 3rd is usually OK unless you are off camber or have one side of the car loaded up, it then requires a little lift of the throttle, back it down to maybe 80%.
Timimg is everything when you don't auto clutch, and especially downchages become a little more interesting, have a play with it with auto clutch off, what's the worst that can happen :bounce:
