Thread: Warning Very expensive mistake

    Default Warning Very expensive mistake

Subscribed to iRacing a year ago on an impulse buy and have hardly used it. Didn't like the no league part of it and the fact that every time I went to use it I had to buy a new car or track, plus wasnt really that impressed with the driving model. Haven't touched it in months.
Then on Sunday got an email from them saying they had automatically renewed my subscription for another year, $184 disappeared out of my account. Seems like I hadn't read the fine print and had my account on the default of automatically renew.
So warning to everyone, if you don't like iRacing, better check your account is set to not automatically renew

yep, you better watch for auto renew.

In your case, I'd write a nice letter to them outlining what the situation is, since you haven't used it for a year, they might be understanding.

And yep, it's an expensive sim. I'm thinking if they'd reduce the prices by about half, they'd have heaps of players on, because otherwise it's good - but as things are they can't really hit the critical mass around the world, only in the US.

Interesting GW, even though i cancelled my subscription, wrote them an email to make sure my sub was cancelled and guess what, they still tried to bill me, and by luck my CC has changed expirey dates since then so they couldnt put it through. iRacing needs new auto billing software!

or maybe they just need more diligent support - the software is ok; if you untick it you won't be billed.

ha, based on that gawaterman has a very good case then

(I've unticked as well, with sadness, since there was hardly enough people to race with, and mine wasn't renewed)

Thats gotta suck Gwyar. at least the exchange rate is good atm lol.

Seriously though write them a letter, i think you should get your money back. I bought a car that I didn't like and sent them a nice message and they let me exchange it for something else.

Sent them a couple of emails but they politely replied saying they couldnt refund on an automatic renewal. Bit that pisses me of is that my last race on iracing was 4/09/2008, over a year ago

that's a bummer (and of course BS they *can* refund it, they just don't want to - look at Glen's case)
