anyway it ended pretty spectacularly for me when i got frustrated at Cals alfa having an edge in speed on the straight (but nowhere else) and i blocked on the straight before turn 1 before running out wide to the fast line before turning in, without realising that Cal had stayed inside and the hit sent me off into the fence very hard.... I got pretty ****ty at the time but on watching the replay (and seeing that Cal was marginaly in front and i just turned straight into him) it was as much my fault for not just blocking all the way through turn 1 and beyond and being a bit of more patient....oh well put that behind me and enjoy the memories of race 1.

I'm glad you finally posted Jim. It was a very unfortunate end to your race and I felt terrible when I watched the replay. I think that one is as close as we get to a true "racing incident". Given our time again we both could probably have done things differently. You are right about the Alfa at that track though, it was no match for the Cortinas in the turns. I'd also been placed dead last on the grid due to an rfactor crash between races and was fairly determined to make up places. Thank you for the humility you showed in your post.

Thanks for that BJ, had a look after I dropped out of bathurst and it was even better than I remembered, fantastic race.
