I'm doing a clean install of Windows 10 as we speak.  Will download AC overnight.

There's no reason it couldn't go smoothly right?

As with each new windows version I always check to see all the crap they try and force on you, I disabled this straight away.

One thing that may come in handy for anyone that wants to alt tab out of the game, Alt+Enter now only works if use use the left alt tab. Alt+enter is the shortcut to switch between window mode and full screen rendering, for me in AC I always go back t window mode if I alt tab out and so this was a combination I used quite a bit. I was shocked when it wasn't working as I use the right alt because its closer to the enter button and I do such tricky combos one handed.

Another thing I noticed was when I first installed it it was running like crap and I had to drop the res in AC, I checked and it was using twice as much VRAM as it should but still looked like lower quality rendering. I found that it didn't auto activate saying please try again later, searching google there were reports of the activation servers being down in some areas and quite likely in some way linked to this network sharing rubbish. The next day when it activated all ran great and seems better then in earlier windows.

Go to settings Your Account, here you can setup how you want to login as that's what I assume your looking for. Set it to sign in with local account and don't give a pass and you wont need to type anything in on login.

So whats the overall verdict thus far on Windows 10.  (thinking of taking the leap)
Worth the effort?
Did it bugger up any existing software etc?

All worked great for me, no issues at all. After I installed I found a few posts with what settings to turn off which included this peer to peer thing.

For win10 NV sli users there is a new driver that fixes a memory issue with these setups. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/geforce-355-80-windows-10-hotfix-driver-download.html

Download the Nvidia 355.80 Geforce driver as released by NVIDIA.

GeForce Hot Fix driver version 355.80 that addresses the following issue:
•Excessive virtual memory consumption for SLI configurations running Windows 10

I had noticed the vram and memory reading have been very high since win 10 and also quite likely that has caused my game to crash at times. I also had to reduce mirrors down a little as at my triple 1440 setup it seemed to run out of vram or something. I have 32GB of system ram and my GPU's each have 6GB vram but msi afterburner was showing more then 6GB being used by each car quite often. In comparison Pcars maxed out same res is only using 4GB so AC really shouldn't be higher and that's not even maxed out fully.

Will try this tonight or over weekend :)
