Following its 1970 Trans-Am Manufacturer’s Championship, Ford made the corporate decision to withdraw from Trans-Am racing. A parting gift for racing partner Bud Moore Engineering was four Kar Kraft-built body-in-white Boss 302 Mustangs, for use during the 1971 season. Two of these cars were built into race cars by Bud Moore Engineering, a third was kept unfinished as a back-up car, and a fourth car, referred to as tag #4-1971, remained a body-in-white until 2011. Now completed in period-correct race trim, tag #4-1971, the last of the Kar Kraft bodies delivered to Bud Moore Engineering in 1970, will head to auction in Scottsdale next month. - See more at: http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2014/12/12/unfinished-until-2011-the-last-bud-moore-trans-am-mustang-heads-to-auction/?refer=news#sthash.s5r4XUsm.dpuf
